Ms. Sandra Grace Towner

TOWNER, Mrs. Sandra Grace - Age 60, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, March 4, 2019 at Victorious Word Church, G-3560 Beecher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Rodney Murphy officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Monday. Ms. Towner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday, with the family present from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM to receive friends. Ms. Sandra Grace Simpson-Towner was born October 3, 1958 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Wilbert B. and Myrtice S. Simpson. She was a resident of Flint and received Christ at a young age. Sandra graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1976.” She received an Associate Degree from Detroit College of Business. Sandra loved music, dancing, telling jokes (dirty ones), and storytelling. She also was a avid writer. Ms. Sandra Grace Simpson-Towner leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Kenya (Ronnie) Philpot of Columbia, SC, Keonna (La’Teef) Simpson-Pyles and Keia Towner (Brian Mack), all of Augusta, GA; step-daughter, Elise Butler-Cooper; 9 grandchildren, Kortney Simpson, Khayeem Pyles, Kelly Towner, Koran Pyles, Kendall Towner and Kinaya Pyles, all of Augusta, GA, Kala Philpot, Aryon Philpot and Breyon Philpot; sister, Rita L. (Herod) Jackson; brother, Larry D. (Joan) Simpson; 6 nieces, Stephanie (Darryl) Howard, Rickael Simpson of Pontiac, MI, Tujuana Simpson, Rickeda Miller of Cincinnati, OH, Rita (Eric) Jones and Brittany (Kevin) Wallace; 3 nephews, Jeffrey Mabry, Jerron Mabry, both of Atlanta, GA and Lauren (Kaitlin) Simpson; 2 aunts, Sarah Simpson and Florence Simpson; uncle, Ayyub Alamin, Milwaukee, WI; 3 special cousins, Aleisa Harris, Elaine Edwards and Robin Shumpert; 2 sisters-in-law, Brenda Towner and Mary Simpson; brother-in-law, Claver Towner; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Hubert Roberts, Joseph Smith, Kelvin Towner, Bennie Hood and Jodie Franklin. Ms. Towner was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert B. and Myrtice S. Simpson; 2 brothers, Wilbert B. Simpson Jr. and Richard D. Simpson and her fur baby son, Tekko Taleako Towner.
