THOMAS, Mrs. Sandra K. - Age 61, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, August 1, 2026, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 P.M. Saturday, August 1, 2026. Mrs. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 8:00 AM until time of service. Obituary Mrs. Sandra Kay Thomas was born July 28, 1964, in Turrell, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Mattie Scott. She graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1982” and attended Baker College. Sandra’s compassion for others shined through when she worked in Home Healthcare and at Hurley Medical center. She was dedicated and dependable as she continued working as a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service until her health began to fail. Sandra loved cooking, family gatherings and she was, yet so classy. She was a Queen. Mrs. Sandra Kay Thomas leaves to cherish her memory: loving and devoted husband, Rodney Darnell Thomas of Flint; father-in-law, William (Betty) Thomas of Hanford, CA; daughters, Kendra Anderson and Kiara Jones; step-daughter, Lonnice Thomas, all of Flint; step-son, Hakier Thomas of Nashville, TN. Sandra also leaves her beautiful grandchildren, Chloe’ Anderson, Aubrey King, Kaybree Scott, Khaza Thomas and Da’Sai Thomas, all of Flint; 5 nieces, Quayandra (Pete) Fields, Chantel, Latrese, Dominque and Autumn; 2 nephews, Donnie (Latoya) Scott and Samuel Scott; sister, Donna Halliburton of Marion, AR; 2 brothers, Billy Scott of Turrell, AR and Samuel Scott of Pontiac, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Dawn-Aungie (Roderick) Arms of Spring, TX, Crystal Thomas of Chicago, IL and April Bruner; 3 brothers-in-law, Thelonious Jackson, Letedious (Delois) Jackson of Flint and Bryant Thomas of Hanford, CA; a host of aunts including special aunt, Delois Scott; uncle, Nicholas Baker; a host of cousins including special best friend/cousin, Valerie Scott; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Chantel Wilson and Samantha Allen. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mattie Scott; grandfather, Willie Baker; grandmothers, Inobia Baker and Georgia Morris; brother, Donnie Scott Sr.; uncle, Elmore Baker; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
