Mrs. Sandra Laverne (Smith) Gray-Moore

(SMITH) GRAY-MOORE, Mrs. Sandra - Age 69, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Briarwood Manor. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Elder Patrick Sanders, Sr. officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Sandra (Smith Gray) Moore was born August 3, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Smith. She was an extremely active and faithful member of the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church for over 40 years until she became too ill to attend. Sandra also was a member of the Inspirational Voices and a member of Victorious Christian Women. She retired from Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors August 1, 1997. Sandra attended Flint Community Schools; Sacred Heart, Emerson Jr. High School and Flint Northern High School. She LOOOOVED skating and she enjoyed traveling, cruises, doing crafts, coordinating weddings, hosting dinners and cookouts for her family and friends. Sandra also loved hanging out with her special granddaughters, Bianca and Ashley. She was a very proud mother and grandmother of everything her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren accomplished. Mrs. Sandra (Smith Gray) Moore leaves to carry her legacy: her children, Sonya (Alonzo) Gray of Flint, Charity (Theodore) Watson of Saginaw, MI, Ernest III, Gregory (Victoria), Anthony (Alice), Sherman (Algeretta) Gray all of Flint, MI, Shawn Gray of Arlington, TX., and James Moore Jr. of Flint; 2 brothers, William Lowery of Pittsburgh, PA and James (Angela) Smith, of Clinton Township, MI; Glenda Coulter, Yvonne Watkins and Twania Poplar with whom she shared a sisterly relationship; cousin, Marta Lawrence of Pittsburgh, PA; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 god-children, Suni Coulter, Johnathan and Jasmine Dorsey of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends survive including special friends, Joyce Hayes of Sugar Land, TX; Betty Garrett, Lottie Faye Collins and Judy Miller, all of Flint. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Smith; twin sisters, LaVerne and Shirley; brothers, Warren Alston Sr., William Smith, Jr., Anthony "Tony" Smith; special cousin, William “Dimples” Mason; former husbands, Ernest Gray Jr. and James E. Moore, Sr.; son, Jeffry Moore.
