Mrs. Sandra Lee Fields

FIELDS, Mrs. Sandra Lee - Age 78, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing 2:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Wednesday. Mrs. Fields will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Public viewing will be during family hour only. Mrs. Sandra Lee (Howard) Fields, affectionately known and “Sandy” was born, June 8, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, the 4th daughter born to the union of Freddie Leroy Sr. and Anna L.V. (Johnston) Howard. Sandra attended Flint Community Schools and was a graduate of Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1965.” After graduation she was employed at Hurley Medical Center. She retired from Hurley after 26 years of dedicated service as a Senior Dialysis Nursing Assistant. Upon retirement, she doted on her nieces and nephews, and was able to delight in her all-time favorite pastime, shopping. Sandy was known to shop from sun up to sundown, earning her the title, “Committed Professional Shopper.” She was a former member of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Sandra Lee Fields leaves to cherish her memory: four sisters, Anna L. (Butch) Rushing, Nancy Watson, Constance Price, all of Flint and Sue (Al) Bates of El Sobrante, CA; brother, Freddie Howard Jr. of Flint; former husband, Samuel Fields; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Sharon and Terry Smith and family, Marjorie Jones and Gladys Ford. Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie Sr. and Anna Howard; two infant sisters, Joy and Robin; paternal grandparents, Rev. Frank and Delia Howard; maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Anna Johnston; nieces, Lisha Greene and Jameshia Bass; nephew, Freddie Howard III; and sister-in-law, Wanda Howard. The family would like to express special thanks to Living Word Ministry, close neighbors, the Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church family, Dr. Paul Musson and staff, Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Min. David Martin and soloist, David Alexander.
