Ms. Sandra Renita Boone

BOONE, Ms. Sandra Renita- Age 63, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Monday, November 7, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM Rev. Lamar Griggs, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Monday. Ms. Boone will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday. Ms. Sandra Renita Boone was born May 29, 1959 in Flint, Michigan, the 9th child of Thomas L. Sr. and Bertha Mae Boone. Ms. Boone was a lifelong resident of Flint where she also received her schooling. She was a member of First Union Baptist church for several years where she served in various ministries. Sandra attend Parkland Elementary, Emerson Jr. High and Flint Central High School, graduating in the Class of 1977. In school, Sandra was a member of ROTC and the Marching Band. She also attended Mott Community College. Sandra worked several years as a Home Health Aide as well as a Public Service Officer at Hurley Medical Center for several years. She was also known as “Sugar” from Camp O’Fair Winds, Girl Scouts and was a gifted writer with published poems. She loved her RC Cola. Sandra enjoyed talking on the phone and reading her Bible, but most importantly she absolutely LOVED her family. She will be SORELY missed by her family and everyone that she met and came to meet throughout the years. Ms. Sandra Renita Boone leaves to cherish her memory: her one and only son, Terrell (Andrea) Tate; 4 grandchildren, Shaniya Gross, Dacoreon Jackson, Na’Niyah Ross and Christian Tate; 4 sister, Barbara (Willie Coney), Terry Lynn Love, Tanisha L. Boone and Chloria “Princess” Boone; sister-in-law, Candace Boone; 15 nieces; 9 nephews; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews; great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and several close friends. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. Sr. and Bertha Mae Boone; 3 sisters, Brenda Boone, Linda Boone-Boutte and Debra Boone; 3 brothers, Raymond Lee Boone, Billy Rae Boone and Thomas L. Boone Jr.; special friend and father of her son, Officer Willie Tate Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Supt. Lamar Griggs, Dr. Dennis Powell, Pastor Eric Lewis, Pastor Robin Thornton, her caregiver, Lillie Malone and everyone who has expressed support to us during our time of loss, and that lover our dear mother, sister and aunt.
