MOTLEY, Mr. Samuel James, III - Age 25, departed this life on Monday, December 31, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center as a result of an automobile accident. Family hour 10AM Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mr. Motley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Samuel James Motley III was born July 9, 1982 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Samuel Motley, Jr. and Martha Carolyn (Taylor) Motley. He attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Northwestern High School "Class of 2000". He also attended Mott Community College. Sam was currently employed at Federal Express as a Team Leader. He was a hard working, loving, and devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his children, restoring cars, operating computers and playing pool. Mr. Samuel James Motley III leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: children, Kameron Elijah and Lauryn Christina Motley; mother, Martha Carolyn Taylor; father, Samuel Motley, Jr.; fiancee', and mother of his children, Nina Simone Buford; grandparents, Aldocia Britten and Samuel (Lillian) Motley, Sr; aunt, Connie Taylor; uncles, Fred (Patricia) Taylor, all of Flint, McKinley (Geneva) Taylor of Fayetteville, TN, Will (Cheryl) Taylor of Lewisburg, TN and Jimmie Motley of Bridgeport, MI; a host of other relatives and dear friends including special cousins, Theresa McQuiddy and Tashara Ewing, special friends, Desmond King and Courtney McCraw, and childhood caregiver, Essie Peoples. Mr. Motley was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Britten; aunt and uncles, Dillard (Elease) McQuiddy and Harvie Taylor, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Farhan, Hurley Medical Center 5 East Trauma Unit, Pastor Henry L. Fuller and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family and co-workers at Federal Express.
