Mr. Samuel Mosley

MOSLEY, Mr. Samuel - Age 70, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, November 25, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with a memorial service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Derrick Aldridge, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Friday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Samuel Mosley, affectionately known as “Sam” or “Bug” was born February 4, 1952 in Hughes, Arkansas, the eldest son of Washington “Sam” and Ceolia Mosley. Sam attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1972.” He also attended Mott Community College. Sam was employed at Delphi, a division of General Motors and later worked as a Psychiatric Technician for the State of Michigan. Sam was baptized and became a member of the Second Chance Church under the leadership of Pastor Derrick Aldridge. He served as a Greeter and worked with the Men’s Ministry, Outreach and Hospitality Ministries. Sam loved his children and family dearly and enjoyed spending quality time with his grandson, Kelvin aka “Red” and granddaughter, Makiah. He always made time to keep in touch with family and friends. Sam was an animal lover and had a fondness for dogs, including his pitbull “Big Mama”. Sam enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing and cooking. He had an awesome sense of humor and a way of turning sadness into gladness. On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Mr. Samuel Mosley departed this life and leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Melinda Williams-Mosley; son, Samuel “Emile” (Mari-Jo) Mosley of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter, Kandice (Michael) Thomas; mother of his children, Kathleen Mosley; step-daughter, Marissa Williams, all of Flint; grandchildren, Kelvin (Leilani), Kymberli, Cassidy, Tyrone and Makiah; great-grandchildren, Lennox, Za’Lena, Phoenix, and unborn baby Ziaire; loving mother, Ceolia Mosley of Flint Township, MI; 2 sisters, Betty Mosley of Grand Blanc, MI, and Juanita Mosley of Flint; 2 brothers, Raymond Mosley of Flint Township, MI and Leon Bobo of Memphis, TN; Aunt (Big Sister) Cleora (Percy) Magee of Flint; 2 nephews Rodney (Michelle) Mosley of Ypsilanti, MI; and Chris Russell of Flint; 3 nieces, Karyn Boutte and Jakyliah Grant, both of Saginaw, MI, Makayla Mosley of Flint; 2 uncles, James (Elaine) Farrow and Arthur (Diane) McGee Sr.; sisters-in-law; Pandora, Yolanda and Wanda Williams all of Flint; brother-in-law, Marvin Williams Jr. of Flint; aunts, Vera Mae Fryer, Mary Mitchell, Doris Jordan and Hattie Gatewood; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Samuel Mosley was preceded in death by his father, Washington “Sam” Mosley; grandparents, Lelea McGee, Jimmy McGee Sr., Washington and Gertrude Mosley and L.D. Farrow; sister, Linda Mosley; uncles, Jimmy McGee Jr., John Henry Mosley, Ollie Fryer, Sam Jordan and Fred Gatewood. The family would like to express special thanks to the Oncology staff of Hurley Medical Center, Dr. Randolph Schumacher, the staff of Kindred Hospice, Pastor Derrick Aldridge and the Second Chance Church family and the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home staff.
