PATRICK, Mrs. Sabrina Ann - Age 48, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2022 at Refuge Temple Church of Flint, 4400 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Matthew Jackson, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Patrick will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. It was on August 3, 2022 when all activities in Sabrina Ann Patrick’s life ceased….Among many people, tears escaped, memories surfaced and words widely spoken when learning of her demise! Where does her story begin? Well...let’s see how it all got started! Our dearly beloved (48 years old) was born a twin! Her identical sister, Selena Kay, expired at birth in Flint, Michigan on February 11, 1974. Her parents are Joe Henry Horton, and the late Delores (Roberts) Horton! She met her cordial/affectionate husband of over 26 years, Lester J. Patrick, Jr., in 1993. They later married on December 29, 1995! They were favored with two precious children: Lester J. (Mya) Patrick, III and Ellanna A. Patrick who did not survive birth! Lester & his beloved spouse are the proud mother/father of infant, Olivia Love Patrick)! Our dear departed has one doting brother, Jeffrey (Barbara Renae) Horton! A learning enthusiast, she easily grasped concepts and received exceptional grades at Flint Northern High School (where she graduated)! She was chosen as an intern from that institution to appear in court sessions & was featured in The Flint Journal on several occasions for other involvements in the community! Subsequently, she attended Western Michigan University of Kalamazoo, MI. Coming from a strong, home foundation, she loved God and the teachings of the Bible! She was a member at Refuge Temple Church of Flint where Pastor Matthew Jackson is overseer! Sabrina was also influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman! She always gave her time to others, and she incorporated that as a wife and into her motherhood! Realizing that time is a precious commodity, she utilized it with joy and pleasure! Namely, Cooking, playing cards, watching movies and doing make-up! Furthermore, she was a family counselor who made everyone feel better about whatever they were going through in life! Having great people skills, she was wise; witty, loved to laugh; liked quiet time; a good listener; trustworthy, meticulous, versatile and accommodating! Likewise, she was very passionate when it came to taking care of her family, especially her dad! She was also excited about her new granddaughter’s arrival, Oliva Love! When the opportunity arrived, she would embrace, hold and love on her! So proud and elated, she told everyone, “Don’t call me Sabrina anymore! My name is GiGi (smile)!” Again, her family was her life, love and longing! In the fullness of time, (August 3, 2022 about 10:33 p.m.) our precious relative threw off her fleshly veil and drifted away to sleep in the hands of a loving and just God! Her agony has now ended and pain has taken its flight after a long stint with illness! She has now entered into her eternal rest with our Lord! Her legacy and purpose are now entrusted to those whom she loved and highly admired: Related thought: Although she has died, our thoughts and feelings for her not! The story now rest but (again) not our memories! She leaves in God’s hands and to value and think carefully and calmly about her life: Her adored and loving husband, Lester Patrick, Jr. Devoted son & daughter-in-law, Lester J. (Mya) Patrick III (who are the parents of a pretty and precious granddaughter, Olivia Love Patrick)! This is where the story should end— shouldn’t it? No, there is more … Caring and dear father, Joe Henry Horton. Kind-hearted and fond brother and wife, Jeffrey C. (Barbara Renae) Horton. Four sisters-in-law: Yvonne (Orrendo) Embry; Brenda Watson, Virginia Patrick and Betty (Andre) Brandon. One brother-in-law, David (Sandra) Jackson. A multiplicity of admired nieces and nephews consisting also of Cedric Horton, Aleah Horton, Shelbey Horton, Joshua Horton, Caleb Horton and Tavilla Embry! Other survivors are aunts comprising also of: Betty J. (Roberts) and Charles R. Edmonds; Geraldine (Roberts) and Herbert Feaster. A conglomeration of cousins including Gerald Roberts; Raymond (Karen) Felder; Valerie L. Edmonds, Kimberly M. (Paul) Nelson; Todd D. (Erricka) Edmonds; Christopher L. Edmonds, Keith C. Edmonds; Dr. Sheila R. Feaster, Yolanda A. Feaster; Lea (Roland) Coston; David (Monica) Roberts; Debra (Dr. Leon) Dantzler; Lori (Dr. Melvin) Butler; Dawn (Darius) Crawford. Stephen (Allison) Roberts, Eric Roberts and Brian Roberts. Along with Lavern (George) McNair; JoGinna Roberts-Willson; Jason Forte’, Louis A. Ford, Drum A. Ford; Dawn Ford, Sean Connor and Missionary Beatrice I. (Temple) Kendall! A group of neighbors and other family/friends far and near—especially life-long childhood friends, Tonya Pickett and Tomika Thompson. Her extended family/co-workers (in particular, Becky and Darcy) at her place of employment, Senderra Specialty Pharmacy! As well as her attached family member, her dog, “Scribbles,” whom she loved very much! She was preceded in death by her cherished and revered mother, Delores (Roberts) Horton. Daughter, Ellanna A. Patrick; sister, Selena K. Horton; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester J. Patrick, Sr. and Viola Patrick. Brother-in-law, Anthony L. Watson, Sr. Aunts and Uncles: Lula M. Felder; Deacon Joe W. (Maryland) Roberts; Eld. Reuben I. (Maryanna) Roberts; Gladys B. Roberts; Ruth M. Roberts; Frederick L. Roberts and twin, Bishop Edward C. Roberts. Grandparents, James F. and Leatha (Temple) Roberts. Close cousins: Mildred D. Connor, Beverly A. Ford, Ramona J. Forte’ and Diana M. Perryman. Certainly, it’s important to capture the spirit of our loved-one who has passed! Granted, her earthly debut was with a naturally-sweet, kind soul; a heart of gold, a big smile for everyone she met, and she was always a delight to be around! As stated, our dear sister’s final exit is being made today! Peace and caring, indeed, permeated in her and kindness felt like it was her middle name!!!
