Mr. Ryan Zimberlist "Zeek" White

WHITE, Mr. Ryan Z. "Zeek" - 59, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday, March 12, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Friday. Mr. White will lie and state in the the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday, with the family present from 4:00 PM -6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Ryan Zimberlist White “Zeek” was born December 15, 1961 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late William Lamar White and Lucy (Cox) White. He departed this life on March 4, 2021 at his residence. Ryan accepted Christ at an early age and united with First Union Baptist Church under the late Pastor Archie Powell Sr. He attended Sunday School and served on the Youth Usher Board. One of Ryan’s quotes was “All I have is prayer and faith.” His mother, Lucy White described her son, Ryan as a person with a good heart. Scripture tell us in I Samuel 16:7 “man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” Ryan was employed by General Optical and LensCrafters for a number of years and was an excellent Eye Technician. He also enjoyed cooking and was a Chef at numerous restaurants. Ryan was one of Flint’s best barbecuer. He would always barbecue for his family’s many holiday cookouts and reunions. Ryan seemed to take pride in seeing how much his family and friends enjoyed his very tasty barbecue. He was a fun loving, easy going person. Ryan also was an avid Detroit Lion’s Fan. Mr. Ryan Zimberlist White leaves to cherish his sweet memories: daughter, Tanisha Hawkins of Decatur, MS; 2 brothers, Eric Latour White and Maureek (Rose) White, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Cathy Hunt and Barbara Marbley, all of Pine Bluff, AR; 4 grandchildren, Tanijah Windham, Taylan Windham, Tamira Windham and Treyvon Windham, all of Decatur, MS; 5 aunts, Betty Johnson-Lamar, Arlene Cox, Jewel Cox, all of Flint, Willie Ann Cox of Rison, AR and Lillian Brown of Chicago, IL; 10 nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Martha Stegall, Donna Cole, Ahmad Walker, Michael Coney and K’Jayin Harrison. Mr. White was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Cox White; father, William Lamar White; sister, Sherry White Rauls; and brother, Ronnie White. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Rodney Williams, Pastor Danyiel Griffin, Pastor Daniel Bridges, the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Keith Graham and Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home.
