HILL, Mrs. Ruthann - Age 49, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Pastor Christopher Martin officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Hill will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Ruthann (Adams) Hill was born December 8, 1961 in Sandusky, Ohio, the daughter of Gilbert Shumate and Mary Ruth Taylor. Ruthann was a resident of Flint. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Detroit College of Business and was pursuing her Master’s Degree at Baker College. Ruthann was employed at Hurley Medical Center for 14 years in the Homecare and Finance Departments. She enjoyed sewing, reading and collecting figurines. Mrs. Ruthann (Adams) Hill leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Brian Keith Hill; daughter, Jacinta K. Adams; son, Marques T. Adams; 2 stepchildren, Quanecko Fleming and Brian Keith Hill, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Janai Mychelle Adams and Kamryan Adams, all of Flint; stepfather, James C. Taylor of Sandusky, OH; grandmother, Fannie Hamilton of Flint; 3 sisters, Deborah (Kenneth) Martin of Grand Blanc, MI, Teresa (Fernando) Davison of Flint and Janet (Gregory) Starks of Leawood, KS; 3 brothers, Charles E. Adams of Largo, MD, William E. Adams of Sikeston, MO and Marc Adams of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 nieces, LaCarla and Marcia Adams, both of Georgia, Mary Jo and Carmen Adams, both of Missouri and Tatyanna Adams of Massachusetts; 5 nephews, Michael Brown and Antuan Taylor, Sr., both of Flint, David, Geoffrey and Christopher Starks, all of Leawood, KS; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; a host of other relatives and friends including, Robert Stinson, Marcia Blassingame, the Hamilton, Thomas and Clemons families and the Bishop Street Block Club. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ruth Taylor and Gilbert Shumate; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hill; and nieces, LaTonya K. Taylor Affectionately called, “TeeTee.” The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Pandrangi, The Finance, Billing and Behavioral Medicine Departments of Hurley Medical Center, the Avenue, the Pastors and church families of Cathedral of Faith, Pentecostal Tabernacle, Greater Holy Temple COGIC, New Beginnings Ministries, Devine Grace Ministries and Victorious Believer’s Ministries.
