MILLER, Mrs. Ruth Amelia - Age 65, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Friday, December 16, 2005 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Friday. Mrs. Miller will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Ruth Amelia Miller was born January 14, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Mamie Centers and Dave Barksdale. Ruth was a member of True Light Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School. Mrs. Miller was a member of AARP Genesee County Chapter-4657. Ruth was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for Flint Public Schools and a booster parent for Chapter 1 Children?s Choir. She enjoyed working with children, traveling, cooking and being with her family. She was a loving person and a joy to be around. Mrs. Ruth Amelia Miller leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Vernon Miller, Sr.; 3 daughters, Melody Centers and Deonca Miller, both of Flint, and Linda Miller of Jackson, MI; son, Vernon Miller, Jr., of Flint; 16 grandchildren, Tyroe and David Centers, DeShon, Chavez, Amelia, and Jaylin Miller, Darryl Miller, Jr., Kynnade Miller-Dials, Christina, Darrion, and Riana Lawson, Troy Camel, Jr., Eric and De?Ery Kah Marks and Dante McNeal II, all of Flint, and Deonna Williams of Jackson, MI; 7 great-grandchildren, Chanelle Davis, Amelia Centers, DeShon Miller II, Shaniya Macks, Jerome Thompson, all of Flint, Aleeshonya and Javion Miller of Florida; sister, Gwen Suluki of Flint; brothers, Thadeus Centers and A.W. Rice, both of Flint; 9 nieces; 11 nephews; special cousin, Francis Henry; 4 sisters-in-law, Bettie Westbrook, Bessie Brown of Flint, Lottie Marshall, Mattie Young of Chicago, IL; brothers-in-law, Lamar Miller, Leon (Willie-Mae) Miller and Dauane (Rita) Miller, all of Flint; many other relatives and friends including special friends, the Lanehart, Suluki, Carter, and Gleeton Families, Christmas Gibbs and Jackie Lipsey. Mrs. Ruth Amelia Miller was preceded in death by her son, Darryl Miller; grandson, Dezzmen Miller; parents, Mamie Centers and Dave Barksdale; stepparents, Bennonia Miller, Clara Miller; sisters, Elvira Gleeton and Ernestein Lanehart; aunt, Olivia Johnson.
