WILLIAMS, Mr. Rufus T."RT" - Age 81, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Kokomo, IN. Family hour 10AM Friday April 15, 2005 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church 424 Kennelworth, with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Dr. Roy I. Greer officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Friday. Mr. Williams will in state from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. Rufus T. "RT" Williams was born April 24, 1923 in Nacogdoches, Texas, the youngest child of 14 children born to Pink and Mattie Williams. Rufus "RT" was a resident of Flint for 57 years. He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Rufus was a former Shriner, of Oman Temple Eureka Lodge #72 Flint, MI. He was employed at Buick, a division of General Motors Corporation, for 33 years and a member of UAW Local 599. He joined in Holy Matrimony to Corine Perry on April 11, 1952 in Flint. Mr. Rufus T. "RT" Williams leaves to cherish his memory: 3 daughters, Doris Overshaun of Columbus, GA, Marie Owens of Flint and Sheila Carter of Kokomo, IN; 2 sons, Anthony Williams and Joseph (Beverly) Williams, all of Flint; 10 grandchildren, Jevon (Rhondala) Williams of Xenia, OH, Deonna Williams of Jackson, MI, Darren, Michael, April, Angie and Dedric Owens, all of Flint, Stanley of Dallas, TX, Robert and Sonja of Columbus, GA; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Ezell Williams of Wichita, KS; 4 sister-in-laws, including Bertha Williams of Flint and Johnnie Williams of Dallas, TX; goddaughter, Bernadette Woods; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Robert French. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his loving wife, Corine Williams; son, Rufus T. Williams, Jr.; parents, Pink and Mattie Williams; 10 brothers and 4 sisters. The family would like to express special thanks to Northwoods Village Memory Care Unit of Kokomo, IN, the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church family and many friends.
