Ms. Ruby Lee Webb-Bryant

WEBB-BRYANT, Ms. Ruby - Age 76, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble in the Chapel 10:30 A.M. Tuesday. Ms. Bryant will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Monday, with the family present to receive friends from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. She will be greatly missed by many family and friends! Mrs. Ruby Lee Webb-Bryant was born August 9, 1939 in Grady, Arkansas, the daughter of Willie Jonathan Webb and Georgia Annie (McGill) Barber. She was baptized at an early age at Highland Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, AR. Ruby later moved to Flint with her family in 1955. She attended Merrill High School in Pine Bluff, AR and graduated from Northern high School, “Class of 1958”. Ruby was hired into General Motors in 1961, where she worked at the Ternstedt Division, later moving to AC Spark Plug on Dort Hwy., where she retired in 1998. She married Leon “L.C.” Bryant, Sr., and from this union two children were born, Leon Jr. and Tremayne. Ruby was exceptionally good at any sport she played; which included golf, pool, bowling, spades, poker or dominoes, her intent was to win at all cost. She really hated to lose and showed it! Ruby was always cooking; especially for holidays, special occasions, or just general principle. You could always go by her house anytime to eat! Ruby’s’ house was the meeting place for all family barbecues and gatherings. Her specialty was turkey and dressing and chess pies. She pledged to take care of her son Tremayne following his illness and was his primary caregiver for quite some years until her death. Ruby passed away suddenly at Hurley Medical Center on October 30, 2015, following a long array of complications. Special thanks to Hurley Critical Care Unit for taking care of her. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Tremayne Bryant; grandson, Brandon Willingham; granddaughters, Neisha and Brooklyn Johnson; siblings, Aubrey (Andrew) Jackson, Jonathan (Doris) Webb, Rudolph Webb, Verais Duke, Janice Brown, Nelsenior (Leslie) Smith and Millicent Nunn; companion, Polk Williams; special sisters, Doris Moore and Ruth Mitchell; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. There is definitely a permanent hole in our hearts by Ruby’s passing. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her family! May she rest in peace!
