Mrs. Ruby Schiebel

SCHIEBEL, Mrs. Ruby - Age 86, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. Family hour 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 8:30 a.m. Chaplain Thomas Blossom, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 8 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Schiebel will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Ruby Schiebel was born September 16, 1926 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Dortha Stanley and Wallace Wright. Ruby was a resident of Flint, Michigan. She attended First Apostolic Church of Mt. Morris, Michigan. Ruby was employed by the Flint Journal for over 20 years. Ruby enjoyed doing crosswords puzzles, being around her grandchildren, watching the news, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was an outgoing, loving lady. Other than her own family, everyone in the neighborhood was her family, either children or grandchildren. Ruby was loved by everyone and will be missed by everyone as well. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Donald Hawley; 3 daughters, Shelley Taft of Texas, Sheryl Snyder of St. Helen, MI and Clarissa Putnam of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Danial Hawley, Dawn and Al Johnson, all of Flint, Christina Hawley of Tennessee, Sequoia and Jay Sample of St. Helen, MI, Destiny Tetrick of Davison, MI, Steven Hawley of Flint, Ronald Hawley Jr., Robert Hawley, both of Flint, LaTonya and Tre York of Tyler, TX, Jeremie Hawley, Kevin Hawley, both of Flint, Christopher Rose, Melanie Norman, Susan Smith and Paul Johnson, all of Texas; great-grandchildren, Raven and Trevon Tetrick, Lexi Mattson, Alexia and Nellie Kleinert, Aniya Owens, Mathew and Nicholas Hawley, Alanna Hawley, Matthew Sewell, Olivia Smith, Ashton and Emma Johnson, Alicia Norman, Keyana Gilreath, Cameron Ostrowski, Dameon Proper, Aaron and Jay Sample Jr., Mason Houser, Al Johnson Jr., and LaTwain Hunt; sister, Rosalee Malicoat; brother, Ralph Wright; 3 nieces, Connie Brinker, Jayne Brinker and Jennifer Blackstock; 4 nephews, Tom Brinker, James and Jason Brinker and John Blair, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including the main three people she called her grandsons, Daniel Johnson, Carron Powell and Sherod Reed, they were her grandsons for years. Mrs. Schiebel was preceded in death by her husband, Burt Schiebel; daughters, Marquerite Rose and Connie Hawley; son, Ronald Hawley Sr.; parents, Dortha Stanley and Wallace Wright; sisters, Bertha Dilley and Loretta Davis; and brothers, Wallace Wright, Leo Wright and Dennis Stanley. The family would like to express special thanks to the Heartland Health and Hospice Team for being there for my grandma and taking such good care of her, to Shamera Dupree, Sharesa Bullock and Sharlein Muniz for also taking care of my grandma.
