Ruby Releford

RELEFORD, Ms. Ruby Jean - Age 50, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her residence. Family hour 1:30PM Thursday, May 29, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM, Rev. Woody Etherly, Jr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Thursday. Ms. Releford will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Wednesday. Ms. Ruby Jean Releford "Duce" was born January 17, 1958 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Homer and Doella (Brown) Releford. She was a resident of Flint for 50 years. Ruby was a dedicated caregiver for Metro Housing Development Commission until her illness. Many friends and neighbors knew Ruby as a person in whom they could seek for comfort at any time. She loved her family especially her nieces, nephews and many special cousins. Ruby also loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons. Ms. Releford leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sisters, Brenda (L.V.) Redwine and Renee Releford; niece, Monica Redwine; 4 nephews, Fred (Romeeki), TaCarri, Rashaud and Kevon Coleman; 3 great nieces, Ameera Redwine, Carlye Rutherford and Mealeah Weathersby; 3 great-nephews, Kareem Rutherford, Zion and TaCarri Coleman, Jr.; 2 stepchildren, Tasha and Nichole Giles; special daugthers, Latoya and Shamika Brown, goddaughter, Charleseen Broughton; 2 step-grandchildren, Dhariae and Le?Mott; godmother, Rita Williams; god-brother, Eugene Adams; 5 aunts, Juanita Butler of Lancaster, CA, Inez Blocker of Sacramento, CA and Lennie Bell Strahams of Flint, Mary Moten and Dorothy Green of Fort Smith, AR; uncle, Roy Garner of Spiro, OK; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Chiffon Wilson, Joseph Sturns, Pastor Woody Etherly, Jr., Cookie Jones, Richard "RB" Smith, Fred & Rita Carter, Alarce Lee, Denise Thompson, Christine Arnold, Elizabeth Tallieu. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Woody Etherly, Jr., Cookie Jones, R.B. Metropolitan Housing Development Commission, Family Worship International Church and Gospel Temple Baptist Church families, Betty Holmes, Alarce Lee, Mr. & Mrs. Roy (Mary) Releford, Brenda Lee Osborne, Julius Rutherford and the entire Releford, Holmes, Pressley, Coleman, Youngblood and Thompson families.
