Mr. Rubin Hare

HARE, Mr. Rubin- Age 95, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Hare will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Mr. Rubin Hare “Uncle Bully” was born December 5, 1924 in Scooba, Mississippi, the son of Jake and Mattie Hare. Rubin was a resident of Flint, Michigan. He was employed at Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation where he retired after 36 years of service. Rubin was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church and served on Usher Board #1 before moving to Idlewild, MI where he became a member of Church of Christ. Uncle Bully loved his family and enjoyed watching baseball, basketball and playing Checkers and Dominos. He also enjoyed reading the Bible. Mr. Rubin Hare “Uncle Bully” leaves to cherish his memory: step-children, John (Earlene) Jones of Canton, MI and Tonesha (Prentis) Adams of Pine Bluff, AR; 5 nieces, Delois Williams of Flint, Ruth Nicholson of O'Fallon, IL, Doris Griffin of Centerville, IL, Louise Washington of Jennings, MO and Helen Donald of Mt. Morris, MI; 3 nephews, Donald (Amenia) Rivera of O’Fallon, IL, Marvin (Cecile Tunac) Blackmon of California and Donnie Hare of Cincinnati, OH; great-niece, Sherry Felton of Flint; great-nephew, Clark Felton of Flint, friend from Church of Christ, Mr. & Mrs. Solomon Sims an d John Cross of Idlewild, MI;, a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Hare was preceded in death by his wife, Abbie Hare; parents, Jake and Mattie Hare; sisters, Carnelius Woods, twin sister, Ruth Blackmon and Cammie Rivera; niece, Helen (George) Strong; nephews, Freddie Blackmon and Gregory Blackmon, T. Herbert (Tina) Felton, Lonie Donald, Bonnie, Pastor Jake and Pastor Albert Hare.
