GRADY, Mr. Roy - age 69, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at McLaren-Flint. Mr. Grady will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, with the family present from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Afterwhich, Mr. Grady will be taken to DeKalb, Mississippi. Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at New Haven Memorial Funeral Home, 703 Philadelphia Rd., DeKalb, MS. 39328 (601) 743-9215. Interment Friendship Cemetery, DeKalb, MS. Mr. Roy Grady was born September 21, 1944 in DeKalb, Mississippi. The son of the late Hezekiah and Flossie Grady. He went to school in DeKalb, MS. He was baptized under the leadership of the late Pastor Otha Davis. Roy was married for 29 years, to his devoted wife Jeanette Grady. He was employed with General Motors Corp.. His trademark style was his toothpick. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, watching cartons, westerns, wrestling and shooting pool. Mr. Roy Grady leaves to cherish his memory: wife; Jeanette Grady of Flint, MI; 2 daughters, Shirley (Dewayne) Grady-Toole of Meridan, MS and Tameka Pringle of Atlanta, GA; 4 sons, Michael Moore, Dentson Moore and Roy Moore and Larry (Tamika) Cordell, all of Flint, MI;12 grandchildren, Myles, Malkolm, Dallas, Destiny, Tessa, DeAndre, Deonte, Jackie, Shantelle, Moko, Brandon and Gabrielle; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Earnestine Jones and Mildred Rush both of DeKalb, MS and Pearlie Mae Grady of St. Paul, MN; brother, Kinish (Sara) Grady of Flint, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Frank & Vernilla Moore of Greenville, MS; sister-in-law, Lettie Bell of Grand Rapids, MI; brother-in-law, Londy Jones of DeKalb, MS and Frank (Jackie) Moore, Jr. of Greenville, MS; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends: The Buggs , Thomas , Johnson , Wesley, Mosley Families; Mrs. Ollie M. Deloach Families; goddaughter, Jeanna Wesley; and god sister, Shenell (Mitchell) Snell; friend, Jessie Dulaney Sr. Mr. Grady was preceded in death by: parent, Hezekiah and Flossie Grady; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers.
