Mrs. Rosie Shackelford

SHACKELFORD, Mrs. Rosie - Age 93, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at her residence. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 12:30PM at Sunset Hills Cemtery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mrs. Rosie Lee Shackelford was born February 9, 1927 in Vidalia, Georgia. On July 9, 1945 she married Fred Shackelford in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1955 Rosie and her family moved to Flint, Michigan. Rosie became a member of Foss Avenue Baptist Church in 1958 and remained faithful until her health failed. She retired from Flint Community Schools as a Crossing Guard with 20 years of perfect attendance. She truly loved her family and she especially loved being Granny. Rosie enjoyed fishing, working in her garden and taking care of her indoor plants. Rosie is survived by: daughters, Rosalyn LeFlore, Deborah (Gilbert) Peters, Patricia Williams and Freddie Fisher all of Flint, MI, Pamela Easter and Mark Stehrenbeger of Ventura, CA, and Gwendolyn (Roderick) Greene of Mobile, AL; sister, Janyce Williams of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Muriel Wilborn of Little Rock, AR; 13 grandchildren, Robert (Darlene) LeFlore of Griffin, GA, Dallisa (Andre) Mason of Detroit, MI, Ladon White, Larry White, Alton White, James (Nancy) Williams, Jr. all of Flint, MI, Rhonda Cotton of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis Brown of Grand Rapids, MI, Reco (Sonji) Shackelford of Rockford, IL, Montez Shackelford and Gina (Anthony) Moore both of Flint, MI, Nyshia Shackelford of Mobile, AL and Perry Shackelford of Grand Rapids, MI; 44 great grandchildren; 33 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special caregivers, Ann Burnash, Sandy Rapoza, Wanda Hunter, and Mandy Runyan. Rosie was predeceased by: husband, Fred Shackelford; daughter, Beverly White; parents, Ida Crawford, York (Willie V) Wilborn; sister, Pearline Safford; brothers, Theopoles Wilborn, Otis Crawford and York Wilborn, Sr.; mother-in-law, Cleo McFadden; sister-in-law, Mattie (Robert) Coleman, brother-in-law, Calvin (Mary) Shackelford and brother-in-law, Frank Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to Valley Area Agency on Aging, Right at Home, All Americans Home Health and Hospice, special nurse Erica Anquetil-Myers.
