Mrs. Rosie Ingraham

INGRAHAM, Mrs. Rosie - Age 91, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd.,with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Rev. Harold Timberlake III, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 12:00 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Ingraham will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Rosie Mae Ingraham, was born on March 17, 1932, in Bessemer, Alabama, the daughter of Otis Wilson and Mantha Steele. As her maiden name was changed by a handsome young man named John Arthur Ingraham. Mantha Lee Steele was her mother, Otis Wilson was her father and she was the only girl out of 4 brothers, Otis, Ernest, Ronald Wilson, and Roscoe Holyfield. She had 2 names that she was called and lot of people said Ms. Rose or Mrs. Ingraham pending on the person and how often she seen them. Most of her life she spent working with kids substituting and mentoring kids she was the type of person who didn't know a stranger and could very well change the course of a person life with just saying hello and talking about her Bible scriptures which she knew so well. Even though she was not a college graduate she could talk with the best and drop knowledge on any situation but best believe there's a verse and the location of it at end of the conversation. She was a faithful follower and member of First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, where she engaged in teaching Sunday School. The most peace she had is when working in the yard rather planting flowers or keeping things manicured. Mrs. Rosie Ingraham was a essential giver but her gift was verse telling and giving encouragement to sometimes strangers. As a mother of 5 Joseph Lee Jones, Melodie, John, Kirk Ingraham, she ruled with a iron fist with a Bible verse attached, but out of everything she taught us it was how to love God and had a verse for that also. Everywhere she went she mostly walked she loved the fresh air and people used to come up to us and say I saw your mom today way over here or there and loved for us to walk with her. When it came to family she could recognize problems before it got worse and was always say... Pray about it her favorite color was white and loved her scarves and accessories with her clothes and her favorite Bible scriptures mostly came from the Psalms, but loved Proverbs, 1 Corinthians, and Matthew, she used to say read it for yourself. She had countless grandchildren and loved them all and enjoyed playing with them. God bless us with a angel on this earth that we will never forget. Mrs. Ingraham was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Ingraham; grandson, Javontae Richard; parents, Otis Wilson and Mantha Steele; brothers, Otis, Ernest and Ronald Wilson, Roscoe Holyfield; and cousin, Willie Dukes; sisters-in-law, Mary Ingraham and Myrtle Ingraham; brothers-in-law, Huey P. Ingraham, Jurl Ingraham, Grvest “Botti” Ingraham and Lawrence Ingraham. The family would like to express special thanks to First Trinity Missionary Baptist church family and friends, and the Medical Staff Hospice Team.
