HILL, Mrs. Rosie B. - Age 95, passed away August 28, 2017 at Fenton Health Care-Fenton,MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Charity United Methodist Church, 4601 Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Brian Willingham, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Hill will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM on Friday with family present from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Rosie “Mama Rose” Hill was born December 23, 1921 in Livingston, Alabama, the daughter of Hattie Lee and Douglas Gulley. She migrated to Flint, Michigan at an early age and married Lee Hill. “Mama Rose” was a Domestic Worker for several professional families in the city. Her favorite transportation was the Greyhound Bus, city bus or just walking. “Mama Rose” went back to school and graduated with her oldest granddaughter, Crystal and in 1987 became a “Northwestern Wildcat”. She also learned to Square Dance, but music and dancing was her joy. Mrs. Rosie Hill leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Linda Burns, Mary (Frank) Grace, all of Flint and Marlene (Anthony) Robinson of Houston, TX; 3 sons, Doug (Andrea) Hill, Sam Hill and Sid Hill, all of Flint; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a host of relatives including, the Hatter, Crockett, McIntyre, Wright, Horton, Huddleston and Thomas families; a host of friends including special friends, the Tyler, Stitt and Hayes, Grace, Brewster and Burns families, and Nett Williams of Pleasant Grove, AL. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hill; son, James “J.C.” Hill; grandsons, Curtis Conners Hill and Kareem Hill; mother, Hattie L. Smith; sister, Annie Mae Williams; brother, Monroe Gulley; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Hill; and Ola Hill-Woods. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Angela Yurk (VPA), all the staff of Fenton Health Care, Valley Area on Aging, Loving Hands Adult Day Health Club, Your Ride Transportation, her extended family all over the world, for their love and prayers. Lastly, we wish to express our gratitude to Rev. Brian Willingham and the Charity United Methodist Church family.
