Rosetta Collins

COLLINS, Mrs. Rosetta - Age 91, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday October 15, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10:30AM Wednesday. Mrs. Collins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Afterwhich Mrs. Collins will be taken to Vidalia, Georgia. Mrs. Rosetta (Wiggins) Collins was born May 6, 1917 in Uvalda, Georgia, the daughter of Mr. Mack (Lillie Mae) Wiggins. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Ira J. Collins in 1945. Mrs. Collins completed cosmetology school in Savannah, Georgia. After relocating to Flint, Michigan, she became a homemaker for her husband. Mrs. Collins was a long-time member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, and the Missionary Society, she loved them both dearly and attended faithfully until her health failed her. She helped raise her nieces, nephews and grandchildren, whom she had great pride in. Mrs. Collins leaves to cherish her memory: 2 children, Bernice McNeal and Sweetie Vickers of Flint, MI; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; 4 sisters-in-law, Eileen Wiggins of Flint, MI, Helen Wright of Vidalia, Georgia, Vandella Cooper of Jacksonville, FL and Ruby Gray of Miami, FL; a host of other relatives and friends including Robert (Henrietta) Lee, Jr., Alberta Lee, The entire Wiggins family, Block Club of Carton St., Molly Harris, Willie C. Lane and family, Macedonia Baptist Church family, Macedonia Mission Society, Geraldine Smith, the Byrd and Rozier families. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Collins; parents; brothers & sisters-in-law, Sylvester (Rosetta) Wiggins, Jerry (Bitha) Wiggins, Rufus Wiggins, LeBerta Collins, Maggie (Dennis) McClain, Ida Bell (Herman) Byrd and Chessie (Robert) Lee. The family would like to express special thanks to Jacki Barfield, Leora and Angela Campbell and Dorothy Ferguson.
