Rosemary Jones

JONES, Mrs. Rosemary - Age 68, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with homegoing service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Repast immediately following at Greater New Bethel, 925 N. Atherton Rd. (before Fenton Rd.) Ms. Rosemary Williams-Jones was born on May 11, 1944, the 4th of eight children born to Beulah and Joseph Williams in St. Louis, Missouri. Rosemary was many things to many people, sister, aunt, cousin, mother and grandmother. She served as a Solider in the United States Army, received her Associates Degree from Detroit College of Business in Accounting, served as a Sign Language Interpreter for Social Services for the Hearing Impaired and retired after serving many years at the Flint Police Department as an Identification Technician. Rosemary will be remembered for many things but most of all for her witty, real and candid words of wisdom, support and love to all. From Police Chiefs, Councilpersons to people with a criminal history, everyone was treated equally! Most of all Rosemary, felt that family unity was important and faithfully cooked Sunday Dinners to ensure that the Williams’ Clan stayed connected. Ms. Rosemary Williams-Jones leaves to mourn four children; Bonita Faye Jones of Chandler, AZ, Dorothy Elizabeth Jones, Sylvester Franklin Jones, Jr., both of Flint, and Eugene Sebastian Jones (Sweet Pea) of Grand Blanc, MI; two grandsons, Steffan Alan Jones of Chandler, AZ and Brandon Eugene McGee-Jones of Flint; three sisters, Bishop Gladys Y. Lester of Chesterfield, MI, Evangelist Mary Sandra Williams and Ms. Bernadette B. Williams, both of Flint; brother, Cecil Larry Williams of Carson City, NV as well as a loads of nieces, nephews, grand and great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and many others who knew her as “Mama Rose.” She was truly a blessed woman. Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Williams, Jr., Ruth Lowe-Kelly and Eileen “Pat” Bland.
