LILLY, Mrs. Rose Mary - Age 78, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 at her residence. Family hour 10AM Saturday, May 10, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Bishop Odis A. Floyd officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Saturday. Mrs. Lilly will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mrs. Rose Mary Lilly was born November 6, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ida Mae Monk and Willie Hugh Copeland, Sr. She was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. Mrs. Lilly retired from A.C. Spark Plugs with 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #651. She loved her crossword puzzles and going to the casino. Moma also loved being around her children and grandchildren. She loved everyone and her favorite spot was sitting in that window. Mrs. Rose Mary Lilly leaves to cherish her memory: son, Christopher (Tonya) Williams; 2 daughters, Bettye Hendricks and Venita Williams; grandchildren, Gilbert E. Dorsey II, Nikki Dorsey, Roger, Qwashi, Ciara and Falen Williams, Jatavion Walker; great grandchildren, Meliyah and Mariajh Williams; stepmother, Naomi Copeland; brother, Elijah Copeland of Ann Arbor, MI; many nieces and nephews including special nephew, Marvin Copeland; sister-in-law, Mrs. Virgie Copeland of Ann Arbor, MI; brother-in-law, Andrew (Louvenia) Lilly; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Margaret Morris, Rose Long, Daisy McGhee, Rea Vasquez, and Annie Cameron. Mrs. Lilly was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ida Copeland, Sr.; husband, Joseph Lilly; daughter, Ida M. Bishop; brothers, Willie and Christopher Copeland, Jr.; grandson, Melvin L. Bishop Jr.; stepsister, Mary Lee McKnight; aunt, Mary L. Kensey.
