WYNN, Mr. Roosevelt "Buddy" - Age 76, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday June 13, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, G-4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mr. Wynn will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Roosevelt “Buddy” Wynn began his earthly journey on July 13, 1934, the son of Wiley and Eva Wynn in Rison, Arkansas. “Buddy” grew up in Rison, attending the Public Schools there. He resided in St. Louis, MO before coming to Flint in 1953. “Buddy” returned to Rison and was joined in Holy Matrimony to his true love, Julia. From this union 3 daughters were born. He was employed at Buick City, a division of General Motors, retiring after 42 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599. “Buddy” was an avid bowler, fisherman, realist and conversationalist, snazzy dresser with an infectious smile, who loved his family and taught them well. He began his Christian journey after accepting Christ at an early age. “Buddy” united with Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in 1960 and served faithfully in the Music Ministry. He leaves to cherish his memory; 5 daughters, Shilda Kaye, Sandra, Audrey, Romeeki (Chad) Coleman and Deonna Wynn, all of Flint; 2 sons, Roger Wynn and Adrian Smith; 17 grandchildren, Shannan, Nick, Michael, Sasha, Shayla, Adrian, Kewana, Roger, Jr., Rashanda, Rashad, Zarian, Matthew, Lanie, Shaionna, Christopher and Chadwick II; 8 great grandchildren including, SaLeeah; special godchildren including, Nairobi, Makayla, Shacori, Deon, Sharielle and Siarah; special companion, Pierre "PP" Wynn; 6 sisters, Ollie (David) Peterson, Willie (Lawrence) Bradley, Patsy (Adell) Johnson, Ruth Wynn, Pauline Richmond, all of Flint and Cleota (Thomas) Gray of Detroit, MI; 2 brothers, R.S. and Benjamin Wynn, both of Flint; 2 sisters-in-law; 8 brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends including dear friends, B.T. Thomas, Carolyn Spight, Ellen Gist, Marilyn Taylor and the Kirkwood Street family. Bro. Wynn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia; parents, Wiley and Eva Wynn. Sr.; sister, Susie Terry; 4 brothers, Homer, Leroy, Nehemiah and Wiley, Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Ruthie and David Peterson, Sr.; 3 nieces; and 4 nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to Munya Hearnes, Narvelle Smalls, Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family.
