HUMPHRIES, Ms. Rontaria Shamond - Age 26, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Norton Women's & Childrens Hospital in Louisville, KY. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, June 8, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Ms. Humphries will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during the family hour only. Ms. RonTaria Shamond Humphries was born January 12, 1993 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Veronica Shanta Dowdell and Ronald Demond Humphries. RonTaria was a resident of Louisville, KY where she moved to at the age of 15. She graduated in 2012 from T-Town located in Louisville. RonTaria was employed by Family Dollar as a Sales Associate. She was an awesome mother to her son, Ryen who was the center of her world. RonTaria didn’t want to miss any precious moments with him and this led to constant videos and photographs. She had a vision of becoming an entrepreneur specializing in lip gloss. RonTaria battle with asthma since the age of 3 months, but it has never held her back from accomplishing any goal she desired. She was outgoing, a natural comedian and an amazing daughter, granddaughter and big sister. Ms. RonTaria Shamond Humphries leaves to cherish her memory: son, Ryen Tay’Shaun-Carter Woods and his big brother, Raj Christopher Woods (who she was second mother); parents, Veronica (Andre) Dowdell-Nettles of Ohio and Ronald (Lucinda) Humphries of Kentucky; grandparents, Willie and Clara Dowdell of Michigan, and Ossie and Fulton Qareeb; 4 sisters, RonNecia and RonDajah Humphries, both of Michigan, JoLecia Dowdell of Ohio and Brianna Williams; 4 brothers, Jordan Dowdell of Ohio, Kendrick (Shavanna) Johnson of Kentucky, Philip Adams and Jimmy (Quinn) Adams, all of Michigan; 5 nieces including 3 special nieces, Gabby and Aubrey Leach, Jakayla Johnson; 6 nephews including special nephew, Kendrick Johnson Jr.; aunts, Francine Thames, Rhonda Carr, Natashi (Issac Meeks) Brown, Jackie Humphries, all of Michigan, NaTasha Giles of Texas and Maraa Udell of Florida; great-aunts, Shirley Gant of Arkansas, Bernice Brown of Florida and Doris (J.D.) Smith of Nevada; uncles, Shawn Birden, Walter “Butch” Birden Sr., Reginald Shivers, Jimmy Humphries, Barry Humphries, Ezekial Banks, all of Michigan and Willie Frank Dowdell Jr. of Florida; a host of cousins including special cousins Ishmail Birden, Isaiah Birden, Iesha Moore, Darius Blackburn, Jameka Johnson, Selina Aldred and Jermaines Humphries; a host of other special relatives and friends including, Donna Stubbs, RaShunn Douglass and Chantal McGhee, Desirea Gardner, Yuriko Kinnard, Tanesha Simpson, Hannah Galeano, Shawnda Chandler, Topas Burres, Courtney Hunter, Angelica James, Danielle Mason, Meshell Mack Robers, Bre’Ana Sweatt, Corey Sprinkle, Utevia Nunn, Takasha Burnett, Christian Macklin (Raj and Remy’s mother). Ms. Humphries was preceded in death her great-grandparents, James and Evie Hill, Fletcher and Ola Mae Dowdell, Lugene and Willie May Humphries; great-aunt, Thelma Louis Boughton and Mary Alice Dowdell; favorite great-uncles, Hertis Gant and Curtis Wright.
