THOMAS, Mr. Ronald Wilson - Age 86, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, September 21, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Thursday. Mr. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Ronald Wilson Thomas was born January 6, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mattie Mae and James Thomas. Ronald was resident of Flint and retired from Vlasic Foods. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, spending time with friends and family, that includes his grandkids, great-grandkids and his great-great-grandkids, etc. Ronald also enjoyed listening to the Blues, watching westerns and The Heat of the Night. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Ronald Wilson Thomas leaves to cherish his memory: former wife, Shirley Thomas; 8 daughters, Mattie Mae (Joseph) Seahorn, Shirleen (Frazer) Walker, Yvonne Jones, Charlotte Thomas, Cozetta (Tyrone) Carroll, Deborah (Bobby) Wilson, Linda (William) Brown and Kathryn (Veodis) Callaway; 5 sons, Vernon (Gina) Jenkins, Demond Thomas, Edward Bonner, Vernon Bonner and Keith McClardy; 2 step-children, Ramona Wilkerson and Delores Ruffin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; a host of nephews including special nephews, Mike and Mark Hawkins; sister-in-law, Margaret Campbell; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mary Young, Ruben Talley and Wallace. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandsons, Keno Laster, Robert Carter Jr. and Jason Rockamore; parents, Mattie Mae and James Thomas; sister, Charlette Thomas; 3 brothers, William Hawkins, Russell Hawkins and James Thomas; nephew, Anthony Thomas; and former wife, Gwendolyn Thomas.
