Mr. Rocky Lane Mayfield Sr.

MAYFIELD, Mr. Rocky Lane - Age 72, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Internment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30PM Tuesday. Mr. Mayfield lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00PM-6:00PM Monday. Mr. Rocky Mayfield was born in Unionville Louisiana on April 21,1949. He was born at home by midwife Ms. Maddie Powell, he was the 8th of 10 chil-dren. Rocky was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Dubach, Louisi-ana. He attended Hopewell Schools in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana graduating from Hopewell in 1968. He played baseball and basketball winning a baseball championship his senior year in 1968. He later moved to Michigan in 1970, where he worked for Chevrolet General Motors V-8 engine plant for 30 years from 1971-2001 before retiring. His hobbies included first and foremost loving his family, fishing, gardening, working on cars, and fixing things that weren’t completely broken until after he fixed them. Mr. Rocky Mayfield leaves to cherish his memory– wife Creamella Mayfield of Flushing, Michigan. Daughter Shantel Jones of Flint Michigan, son Derek May-field of Flint, Michigan, daughter Latasha Mayfield of Flushing, Michigan, and son Javarious Mayfield of Flushing, Michigan. Grandchildren; Darr Stallings, Kristopher Jones, Derek Mayfield Jr, Erica Mayfield, Sha’Nayta McClain, Daniel Mayfield, Rockie Lane Mayfield III, Breiona Mcclain, Ashley Harrison, Antio Harrison, Aaliyah Harrison, Gabrielle Mayfield, Dametruis Nelson, Dari-on Mayfield, Deauge Mayfield, Makartus Nelson, Deanna Mayfield, Chauncey Mayfield, Quavon Trawick, Marielle & Marchelle Johnson, Kennedy Jones, Rilee Bates and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: Mother and Father Leonard Mack and Leaster Bell Mayfield, son Rockie Lane Jr, grandson Monteus Mayfield, Luester May-field, Rudell Mayfield, Joyce Mayfield, Easter Mayfield, Roger Mayfield, Ora Terry Mayfield and daughter in law Tiphanie Mayfield.
