Mr. Robert Winston Venerable

VENERABLE, Mr. Robert Winston - Age 78, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at Ascension Genesys. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Venerable will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Robert “Toad” Venerable was Born in Los Angles, California on February 4, 1946, the second son of Samuel E. Sr. and Bernice V. Venerable. Robert joined the army in 1963 where he became a rifle expert. He received a gold medal for good conduct and was honorably discharged in 1969. After serving six years in the service he moved to Flint, MI to be near his immediate family. While living in Flint, Robert met the love of his life, Dr. Annette Davis who he was blessed to spend 38 years of marriage with before proceeding him in death earlier this year. Robert began working for General Motors in 1982. He was a supervisor for 43 years at the Truck and Bus Assembly plant in Flint, MI. Robert believed in treating his employees fairly and making sure they were taken care of and appreciated. He enjoyed fishing and fellowshipping with his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Robert “Toad” Venerable leaves to cherish his memory: brother, Willie (Lisa) Venerable; 7 nieces, Kelly A. Venerable, Kameia Kimble, Tammisha Wilson, Patrice Wilson, Tamara Billings, DiNika A. Davis and DiAnndra N. Davis; 4 nephews, Demetrius Venerable, Dr. RaShawn (Amanda) Venerable, Derrick Ampy and LC Wilson; 3 aunts, Mary Thomas, Charlotte Gloudin and Olema Minor; sister-in-law, Diane Davis; a host of great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Venerable was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Annette Davis; mother, Bernice V. Venerable; father, Samuel E. Venerable Sr.; and brother, Samuel E. Venerable Jr. The family of Robert Venerable wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this time. Thanks to the staff of Genesys Reginal Medical Center and Medilodge of Frankenmuth. Special thanks to Robert’s great nephew Nazere Watson “The President” who was a special blessing and helped to lift his great uncle spirits on some of his most difficult days. To Ms. Poverlene “Dump” McCathery, thank you for being a mother to us since our mother passed. You stepped into the role perfectly. We love and appreciate you for everything you have done for us.
