Mr. Robert Lee Stone

STONE, Mr. Robert - Age 71, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at his residence. Graveside service 10:00 AM Thursday, September 10. 2020 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford RD., Holly, MI. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Stone was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. Rober “Robert” Lee Stone was born June 26, 1949 in Battle Creek Michigan, he was preceded in death by both parents John T. Stone and Mary E. Stone. He was one of six children. Rober “Robert” Lee Stone quietly passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 after along battle with various health problems that plagued his body and not his mind. He leaves behind one son, Michael X. (Ashley) Stone (also with many other children that he helped raise as his own that called him Pop/Dad), seven grandchildren, one great grandchild. Also leaving to morn and safeguard his memory is his sisters and brothers, Johnnie L. Lacy, Marcelluss Wilson, Wesley (Barbara) P. Stone, Andrew H. Stone and April Y. Stone and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and daughter-in-law. Robert went to Roosevelt Elementary School at a younger age then he continued on with his life working at General Motors in 1969 as a machine operator. Thereafter he continued his journey in the Army in 1969-1970 where he served his country in the war where he received numerous of Army service metals in the Vietnam. A short time after he went onto retire but still worked numerous of jobs because that’s what type of a hardworking and independent man he was. Robert was known to be resilient in all things, maintained an amazing sense of humor with his smirk laugh. He loved playing chess, barbecue, reading the newspaper, watching his favorite shows while sitting in his “favorite chair” in front of the window and sitting on the front porch with his favorite drink while “junk talking”. Rober “Robert Lee Stone, would also help anyone that really needed him in the time of need he was the type of person that would give his last to anyone. He was a loveable person who was truly loved by many and will forever be missed. The family would like to send a special thank you to his hospice staff & his wonderful caregivers for being there for him in his time of sickness. We thank you, we appreciate you and we love you very much!
