Mr. Robert T. "Bobcat" Smith

SMITH, Mr. Robert T. "Bobcat" - Age 59, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Bethlehem Temple Church, 3401 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Eric Foster officiating, Eld. Philip J. Thompson, Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mr. Smith will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Robert Thomas "Bobcat" Smith Jr. was born on December 16, 1953 to Robert T. and Doris Smith. He received Christ as a young child at New Morning Star in Lima, OH, and went on to join St. James CME Church from the time that he was a small child until his abrupt passing on June 16, 2013. “Bobcat” as he was called by most, attended college in Jackson, MS. and Paducah KY., and went on to become a Supervisor and Union Representative for General Motors. He held this position until his retirement in 2009. After which, he indulged in his long time hobbies of traveling, bowling, fishing, and shooting pool. Robert leaves an immeasurable number of loved one’s to cherish his memory. This includes his 5 children, Kia Friday, Shane (Deena) Pringle, Javon Pringle, Robert Smith, and Rashawnda “Boo” Smith; 7 grandchildren, Malachi Thomas Smith, E’Liyah Rosbourgh, Javon Pringle Jr., Marlaya Myers, Davian Liddell, Maleah Pringle, and Mariah Pringle. Bobcat will also be missed by his 3 sisters, Patricia (Paul) Harden-Paschal Harasim, Teresia Harden-Beaty, Sondra (Robert) Barnes-Oatneal; 3 brothers, William (Robin) Harden, Julian Harden Sr., and Phillip (Carolyn) Harden; He will also be missed by his 7 nieces, Shaconni Hamilton, Danielle (Todd) Anderson, Rachelle Barnes, Cameo (Darrell) Paschal-Fair, Tiffany Harden, Jillian Barnes, and Brittany Harden; 6 nephews, Tremayne (Leila) Harden, William Harden III, Nigel Stovall, Phillip Harden Jr., Julian Harden Jr. and Dariet Beaty; a number of great nieces and nephews; aunt, Bessie (Howard) Allen; uncle, Jimmy (Connie) Smith; Robert also leaves behind a number of cousins, and friends, which includes special loved one’s, Maurice “Fuji” Lee, former wives, Barbara Smith, and Vicki Smith; Gladys McNeal (Willie) James, Nora Lee (Connie D.) Thompson, Clarence (Marilyn) Brown, William “Squeaky” Johnson, Keisha Horton, David Cox, Greg Pregion, Raymond Thomas, Anthony Watson, and Andrew Stone. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Robert T. Smith and Doris Smith; cousin, Delores Johnson; and nephew, Franco Harden.
