Mr. Robert Rorie Sr.

RORIE, Mr. Robert Sr. - age 53, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 12 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2014 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave. with funeral service commencing at 1 p.m. Rev. Dr. Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12 p.m. Monday. Mr. Rorie will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Robert Rorie, Sr. was born January 1, 1961 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Myrtle Louise (Rorie) Moten. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and attended Flint Community Schools. Robert was a faithful volunteer at Carpenter Rd. Elementary School. He loved fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Robert Rorie Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, LaTonya Rorie of Flint; 3 sons, Robert Rorie, Jr. of Columbia, TN, Keshon Rorie and Deshon Rorie, both of Flint; 7 grandchildren, Davidian Simpson, Jr., Brielle Rorie, X’Zayvion Rorie, Londyn Rorie, Octavieon Rorie, all of Columbia, TN, Shatyra Rorie and Ky’Juan Rorie, both of Flint; great-granddaughter, Trinity Simpson; parents, Myrtle and Jacob Moten; 4 sisters, Alice Dyson of Covington, TN, Rosie Robinson of California, Angela Tornes and Alma Murray, both of Flint; 3 brothers, Calvert (Carol) Tornes of Charlotte, NC, Fred Tornes, Jr. of Flint and Albert Robinson of Horn Lake, MS; 13 nieces, Cassandra Dyson, Seaira Savage, Catessa Willie, Patricia Tornes, Chandra Dyson-Somerville, Octavia Brooks, Michelle Ross, Mallory Ross, Phine Hardmon, Arie Tornes, Yallanda Ross, Dommanisha Jamieson and Darianne Ooten; 5 nephews, Tyrell Simon, Ernesto Tornes, Keyland Savage, Darius Ooten and Calvert Tornes, Jr.; 6 aunts, Ida Rorie, Earlene Rorie, Janice (Raymond) Collins, Victoria Rorie, Vercine Rorie and Peggy (John) Grant; 5 uncles, Vernon (Louise) Rorie, James (Ruphchel) Rorie, Thomas Rorie, Vernon (Shannon) Rorie and Donnie McCoy; a host of cousins including special cousins, Cynthia Goss, Melissa Green, Veronice and Jarvier Shelby; mother-in-law, Josie Clark; special brother-in-law Robert Clark; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Jeanette Clark-Rorie, Larry Miller, Maria Paschall-Bayne, Shelly Pittman, Micheal Fields, Roy Brown, Richard Miller, Dorman Freeman, Rev. Casey, Jacqueline Allen, Landar West, Micheal Jones, Christina Taylor CoCo Savage, Glenn Jackson, Linda Hardman and Keith Savage. Mr. Rorie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Percy B.
