Mr. Robert Felton Moffett

MOFFETT, Mr. Robert - Age 71, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at MediLodge of Montrose. Family hour 1:30 PM Thursday, April 6, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM Pastor Carl Arthur officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM Thursday. Mr. Moffett will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Robert Felton Moffett passed away March 30, 2023, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Robert was born in Nashville, Georgia, to Johnnie Mae and Narvell Moffett Sr. on December 3, 1951. He grew up in Flint, Michigan with his 4 siblings and was educated in the Flint Community School System where he developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning. Bobby as he was affectionately called worked in the service industry for many years. He had a love for sports, animals and music with a special affinity for Jazz and Reggae. Bobby took every opportunity to learn about art, culture, history and was a true cinephile. If you knew him, I’m sure you have a laundry list of sayings including “you still talking dick & jane” and “vacate the premises.” He loved his nieces and nephews taking every opportunity to share his light with a splash of humor. God chose to bless him when chance would have him meet his future wife, Verna Brown, they were joined in marriage on February 13th, 1992. They spent 9 happy years together until her untimely passing. Bobby was a devoted husband, son, brother and uncle who created nicknames for everyone. He looked forward to visits from family always instilling courage and optimism. Mr. Robert Felton Moffett “Bobby” leaves to cherish his memory: sisters, Dyann (Bobby) Moffett Neal and Marilyn Moffett, all of Flint; aunts, Joyce Moffett of Miami, FL and Margelene (Wayne) Kelly of Gainesville, FL; nieces, Yolanda Demps of Flint, Tonya Govereh of Lansing, MI, Beatriz Moffett of Detroit, MI, Aleata Arthur of Flint, Dashawna, Dwana, Ashley and Andiyanha Moffett of Flint; nephews, Terrance Heard, Demario, Narvell and Andrico Moffett, all of Flint as well as beloved great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Moffett; parents, Narvell Sr. and Johnnie Mae Moffett; brother, Narvell Moffett Jr.; sister, Linda Moffett; nephews, John Heard and Jaoquim Moffett; and his great-nieces, Kayla Watson, Zaniyah Moffett and Kayla Arthur.
