Mr. Robert "Tutti Frutti" Cain

CAIN, Mr. Robert "Tutti Frutti"l - Age 73, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday. January 27, 2024 from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St.. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Cain will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Robert Earl Cain passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Cain was born November 17, 1950 in Damascus, Arkansas, the son of Birdie Trouser and Joseph Cain. Robert attended the Flint Public Schools, where he graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1969.” He was captain of the Football Team. Robert later attended Mott Community College and was later employed at Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation. He was a member of UAW Local #599 and retired in 1990. Mr. Robert Earl Cain leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Mrs. Birdie Trouser; sister, Loretta Lane; 4 brothers, Billie J. Cain, Hermon Trouser, Waverly Trouser and Walter Trouser; 4 daughters, Keesha Washington, Andrea Cain, Shuntaye Smiley Cain, all of Michigan and Angela Cain of Murfreesboro, TN (along with the 3 mothers of his children); 12 grandchildren, Elijah Washington, Shantel Harris, Brenin and Breana Skipper, Larrion Walker, Keyari Washington, Laila Washington, DeQuindria and RaQuadria Hampton, Harneisha and Harvey Watson IV, all of Michigan and TaQuavius Quinney of Murfreesboro, TN; 3 great-grandchildren, Elijah Washington Jr., Traivon Clayton Jr. and Mei-Launi Hampton, all of Michigan; longtime companion, Shawn Smiley; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins, Sonya Hart, Onita Quarles, Curtis Fields, Mr. Sefoster Smith “Chicago Smitty”. Robert was preceded in death by his fathers, Joseph Cain and Hurley Trouser; sister, Shirley Trouser; grandparents, Eugene Waters and Anna Bell; numerous aunt, uncles, cousins and friends. Robert Cain better known as “DJ Tutti Fruitti”, was a huge people person, life of the gatherings and he enjoyed getting together with family and friends. He also loved sharing time listening to good music and eating good food. Robert back in the day was a very good “DJ” in the surrounding areas and had many “DJ” friends. He also had his own club called “Tutti Fruitti Discoe Tec.” Robert enjoyed life and will truly be missed by many.
