Mr. Robert Sinclair "Bobby" Buford

BUFORD, Mr. Robert Sinclair "Bobby" - Age 70, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at McLaren - Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Min. James Hill officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Buford will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to receive friends. Mr. Robert Sinclair Buford “Bobby” was born April 30, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Charlie and Maeola Buford. He accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and was a member at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church until his passing. Robert had a great love for the Mass Choir. He graduated from Flint Central High School. After which he earned an Associate’s Degree from Mott Community College and came close to graduating from the University of Michigan-Flint. He enlisted in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged. Robert retired from Hurley Medical Center with 26 years of service. And was the first minority employee to complete the Apprentice Electrician Program at Hurley Medical Center. Robert later became an Electrical Journeyman. He enjoyed music, traveling and walking. Mr. Robert Sinclair Buford “Bobby” leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Yvonne Buford; 2 daughters, Yvonne Lee King and Kitrin Buford; 2 step-children, Anthony Cox, all of Flint and Gina (Alvie) Crank of Columbus, OH; 6 grandchildren, Ta’Quon Buford of Dallas, TX, Tyrone Cox, Jr., Antoine Cox, both of Flint, Brandon Scales of Milwaukee, WI, Alexandria Crank and Justice Crank, both of Columbus, OH; great-grandson, Antoine Cox, Jr.; 4 nieces, Nina Buford, both of Flint, Tamika Hemphill, Kena Jackson and Najah Jackson, all of Georgia; 2 nephews, Charles Buford III of Flint and Butch Scott of Long Beach, CA; 4 aunts, Sadie (Moses) Williams of Grand Blanc, MI, Martha Lovett and Ethel Williams, both of Flint and Auggie Buford of Memphis, TN; 2 uncles, Otis (Sandra) Williams and Elijah (Julia) Williams, all of Flint; a host of cousins including special cousins, Russell Buford and Tremaine Lovett; other relatives and friends including special friends, the Genesee Valley Morning Walkers. Mr. Buford was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Maeola Buford; brothers, Charles and Marrin Buford; and other relatives. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint ER staff, Janisha Clevidipine, Greg Szynkowski, Nancy Young, Dr. Paul Musson and staff.
