ALLEN, Mr. Robert Lee Jr. - Age 52, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, 5802 Fleming Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Eric Lewis Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Allen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6PM to receive friends. Mr. Robert Lee Allen Jr. was born on September 11, 1969 in Flint, MI, the eldest child to Elder Robert L. and Teresa J. (Brown) Allen Sr. Robert Jr. attended Flint Public Schools graduating from Flint Northern High School. He accepted Christ at an early age at Holy Ghost Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of the late Pastor Herman H. Strong Sr. Robert was very active in the church serving in the music department singing with the Holy Ghost Echoes, the Inspirational Choir, even playing the bass guitar. Robert Jr. was a sports fanatic, especially football and basketball. He had a fun personality an infectious smile, and never met a stranger. Most of all he took pride in being the Eldest, that’s right he loved his family and was the eldest child and the eldest grandchild. We will remember some of his sayings, “Hey Tee Tee”, to all his aunts, “You Clown”, “Love Love”, and “I AM THE ELDEST.” Mr. Robert Lee Allen Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: son, Delonte Nelson; granddaughter, Naomi Nelson, both of Bryant AR; parents, Elder Robert L. Sr. and Missionary Teresa J. Allen; 3 brothers, Tracy L. (Melissa) Allen, Samuel E. Allen, all of Flint and Benjamin H. (Domincia) Allen of Swartz Creek MI; 2 sisters, Mary J. (Clarence) Broach of Ypsilanti, MI and Dionca P. Allen of Plano, TX; 3 uncles, Thomas (Mona) Brown, Eugene Brown, both of Flint MI and Bruce (Sheila) Brown of Arlington TX; 7 aunts, Jane Allen, Doris Allen, Marie Allen, Grace Anderson, Pamela Brown and Leali (John) Alexander, all of Flint and Mary Allen of McDonough, GA; great-aunt, Joyce Morgan of Hayti, MO; second mother, Marilyn Mitchell; god-father, Elder James Allen of Atlanta GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special cousins, J.D. and Bonnie Dunbar and family, Kareem Bonner, Faron Collins, Nathaniel Blackmon and special friends, Dennis Looney Jr and Rachel Johnson. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher J. Allen; grandparents, John and Ruthel Brown, Henry and Henretta Allen; great-grandparents, Mack and Willie M. Morgan, Mamie C. Patterson, Mattie Brown; 6 uncles; 1 aunt; and 2 nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to Administrative Assistant Eric and Missionary Lewis and the Faith Temple COGIC Church family, Bishop Matthew L. Brown, Pastor Brian Grundy, Lawrence E. Moon and staff, and so many more, too many to name but all loved the same
