ALLEN JR., Mr. Robert James - Age 57, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Family and Friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Allen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Robert “Buddy” Allen Jr. was born May 22, 2015 in Flint, Michigan. The son of Willie Robert Allen Sr.and Zodie Mae Chilton-Allen. He attended Flint Central High School and was also a member of the National Guard Services. Robert received Christ and was Baptist in the name of the Holy Ghost attending First Apostolic Church of Flint. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing pool, and card games. He loved soul food and making people laugh. Robert had a host of jobs throughout his life and loved old school cars and motorcycles. Mr. Robert “Buddy” Allen Jr. leaves to cherish his memories; 2 daughters, Latrice Lucas, and Jalonda Allen; son, Romulus Covington; 3 step-children, Ja’Mica (Mike) Chilton, Jeremy Allen, and Mckiya Lucas; 12 grandchildren, Ja’Shawng, Te’Onnie, Taleaha, Ja’Shaia, Jeremiah, Armani, Marlon, Amber, Dahlia, Journee, Matthew, Chasen Celeste; 4 sisters, Linda Chilton of North Carolina, Peggy Shelton of Atlanta, GA, Harriet Chilton of Lansing, MI, and Violetta Allen of Flint; 4 brothers, Michael Chilton Sr., Bryant Allen, Andre and Anthony Allen; a host of 10 nieces and 5 nephews; 3 aunts, Bessie Mae Greene, Viola Greene, and Emma Chilton; 2 uncles, David Chilton, and John Henry Chilton; a host of cousins; a host of other relatives and friends including; Ameer Benton, Marlon Brown III, Charla Allen, and James McSwain Sr. Mr. Robert “Buddy” Allen Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; Willie Robert Allen Jr and Zodie Mae Allen-Chilton; grandparents, Henry and Hattie Albsten-Chilton; aunt, Mary Jane McAdoo; 4 uncles, James Harris, Jimmy, Jerry John, and Henry Chilton; 3 cousins, Brian Keith Greene Sr., John Anthony Green, and Jocelyn Collier.
