JONES, Mr. Ricky - Age 66, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM, Friday July 5, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Pastor Brian D. Grundy, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Ricky Dwayne Jones was born September 2, 1957 in Greenville, Mississippi, the son of Ossie Sr. and Sterlene Jones. Ricky was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. He wore a few skilled hats. Ricky was a worker at Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation, he drove semi trucks for Coca Cola and was a professional Landscaper in Detroit, MI. His greatest loved for all for the last 45 years was drywall hanging and finishing. Ricky did hardwood flooring and textured ceilings. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking for others. Ricky wrote a lot of poems and hymns. He was a child of God with great faith, his most firm belief was that postponing tough decisions is a result of a lack of faith. On Saturday, June 15, 2024, Ricky Dwayne Jones made his transition from this life onto eternal life in the presence of Father God. Mr. Ricky Dwayne Jones leaves to cherish his memory: brother, Ossie Jones Jr.; sister, Adrienne Jones; 2 sons, Jaylon and Jaqunatay Taylor; 2 daughters, Yliana Lopez and Tajah Taylor; 7 grandchildren, Alayah, Jayla, Mirage, Courtney, Diary, Tristan and Montez; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 uncles; 6 aunts including special aunts, Louella Jamerson and Dolly Ann Jamerson; 8 nephews including special nephews, Dexter Herron, Ossie Jones III, Maurice Jones, Perry and Robert Lee; 8 nieces including special nieces, Rochelle Daniels, Lynnae and Sterlene Jones; a host of cousins including very special cousin, Pastor Brian Grundy (Greater New Bethel COGIC); special cousins, Caroyln Wells, George, Charles, Benny, Brian, Gary, Arthur Grundy, Donna Allen, Helen Jamerson and Marlene Lassister; special friends, Ms. Ferguson, Jazz, James, Eric and Harris Family; Spiritual Dad, Apostle Lonnie W. Brown (Kingdom of Heaven Ministries). Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Ossie Jones Sr.; mother, Sterlene Jones; brother, Robert Union; 2 sisters, Debra Lynn and Sharon Lynnae Jones; sister-in-law, Bessie Mae Jones; uncles, Willie Sr., Eric, Joseph, Enis Rodney and David Jamerson; aunts, Mother Mae Francis Grundy, Donzella Jamerson, Mattie, Mamie, Atlee and Johnnie Bee Moreland; Ricky’s cousins, Francine and Deborah Jamerson; special cousins, Andrew and Mary Grundy. We are eternally grateful for family like ours. Your prayers, visits, calls, flowers and every act of fondness, which provided inspiration during our expectations of this time.
