ADAMS, Mr. Richard Allen - age 80, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Adams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Richard Allen Adams was born May 20, 1933 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of Alfred and Annie Mae (Bell) Adams. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Catherine Osborn on March 5, 1974. Richard was employed at Buick Motors, a division of General Motors for over 43 years and was a member of UAW Local #599. He loved gardening, shopping, spending time with his family and doing everything for his grandkids. Richard was friend to everyone he met. Mr. Richard Allen Adams leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 40 years, Catherine Adams; daughter, Acquanetta Wiley; son, Marlon Wiley; 18 grandchildren, Lisa, Andre, Barbara, Drake, Montel, Vharonda and Sharonda, all of Flint, Derick, Indiana, Samuel, Quashawn and Satri, all of Kalamazoo, MI, Kenny, Tameka, Willie, Murlene, Santuria and Kareem, all of Flint, special grandchild, Antiony Wiley; 13 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; god-daughter, Rosy Wheeler of Flint; 4 sisters, Dorthy Adams, Flossie Rogers and Helen Hopson, all of Flint and Tenetha Langel of Pine Bluff, AR; 2 brothers, Glenn Adams of Milwaukee, WI and Sidney (Millard) Adams; 3 sisters-in-law, Alene Guidenon and Corine Jones, both of San Francisco, CA and Marvin Adams of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including Charlsie Morgan, Alfred “Doc” Talbert, Darryl Stone and Veronica Nickens. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Catherine, Doris and Mittie Wiley; 2 sons, Frank and Kenny Wiley; parents, Alfred and Annie Mae (Bell) Adams; brother, Robert Adams.
