HICKS, Ms. Regina Ann - Age 58, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Patrick McNeal officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Tuesday. Ms. Hicks will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday. Ms. Regina Ann Hicks was born November 23, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to Fred and Lucille Leeper. Regina graduated from Flint School of Choice in 1977. After graduating, she worked various jobs but only seemed to enjoy her career as a child care provider. Regina enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved doing crossword puzzles, going to bingo, watching The Steve Harvey Show, The Price Is Right and spending time on her computer. Regina was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Ms. Gina Ann was a loving, caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was never judgmental and always understanding. Regina spent countless hours taking care of children of family and friends, which gave her much joy. She helped raise over 100 babies. Ms. Regina Ann Hicks leaves to cherish her sweet memory: Husband, Fred Mckinzie; daughter, Lolita Anderson; son, Fred Hicks (Tremaine Blake); grandchildren, Ellexus (Devoon) Tyler, Jazmine Hicks, Avian Hicks, Patience Anderson, Shadamia Bradford and Sir Tedford; great-grandchildren, Paitin and Paxtin Tyler; 8 sisters, Brenda (Willie) Toney of Tomball, TX, Bianca and Marcita Leeper of IN, Yamika Leeper, Yolanda (Roger) Smith and Sharon Martin all of Dayton, OH, Shelia Peterson and Dorcas Leeper both of Toledo, OH; 3 brothers, Eric Leeper of Flint, Rodney Leeper of Toledo, OH and Fredrick Leeper of Lima, OH; aunt, Elsenior Woods of Toledo, OH; mother-in-law, Marie Mckinzie; 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Jones and Mary Tedford; 5 brothers-in-law, George Jr., Marzell, Nate, Greg and Calvin Mckinzie; daughters-in-law; Samantha Woods and Shalawn Coleman; special niece, Correne Burch; god-daughter, Jahmyra Drake; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ms. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucille Leeper; brothers, Mark, Darryl and Fred Leeper; step-mother, Madilynn Leeper; grandfather, Edward Hicks; father-in-law, George Mckinzie, Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center, Grace Missionary Baptist Church and Dozier Memorial.
