MOORE, Mrs. Rebecca - Age 54, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at her residence. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, November 3, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Rev. Johnny Kidd officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Monday. Mrs. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 8AM-6PM Sunday. Mrs. Rebecca Darcel Moore was born March 14, 1954 in Flint, MI the daughter of Genevieve O’Neal and JW Jones. Rebecca was a resident of Flint and graduated from Nothern High School “Class of 1972”. She was a former student of the Genesee Area Skill Center where she studied Nursing and later graduated from Mott Community College with an Associates Degree in Nursing. Rebecca was the “First” “Miss Jabawalk” at the Ebony Fashion Fair. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. Rebecca especially enjoyed spending time with her family and skating. Mrs. Rebecca D. Moore leaves to cherish her memories; daughter, Shelba (James) Barker of Toledo, OH; 3 sons, Marcel Driver, Roger Driver and Edward Green all of Flint; grandchilden, Imani Barker, Sameeka Gipson, Autumn Moore, Jacquece Gipson, Kalon Moore, Malik Moore, Jaylen Moore, Isaiah Moore, Marquan, Natiya, Zariah Driver and James Green; 4 aunts, Elizabeth (Lionel) Wells, Barbara J. O’Neal, Deborah A. O’Neal and Catherine O’Neal all of Flint; uncle, Lionel H. Wells, Sr.; a host of cousins including, Brenda, Yvette, Charlotte O’Neal, Charles O’Neal, Jr., Bryant, Marquan O’Neal, Alicia and Briana Sanders, Edwin and James O’Neal and Renette (Walter) Horton; daughter-in-law, Marci C. Moore a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Allie Miller, Ken and Nova Hilbert; special relatives, Mary Holder-Benton and Yasha Smith. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her son, Marcus V. Moore; mother, Genevieve O’Neal; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. J. Jones, Alvin and Grace O’Neal and uncle, Charles E. O’Neal, Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Avalon hospice and Hurley Medical Center’s staff.
