JOHNSON, Mrs. Rebecca - Age 100, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Elder Clinton Byrd, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Thursday. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 11:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday. Mrs. Rebecca Johnson was born January 24, 1923 in Castlewood, Virginia, the daughter of Andy and Emma Mooney. Rebecca moved to Flint, Michigan in 1969 where she worked as a Nurse Aide. She attended Agape Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ford. She loved her family and friends, being outside with them and watching TV. Rebecca also loved watching her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a loving, caring and kind person. Rebecca was a mother and grandmother to everyone she came in contact with. She touch the lives of so many people. Mrs. Rebecca Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters and 3 sons, Chirstine Johnson, Linda Johnson, James (Sharron) Johnson, Carl Johnson, Marvin Johnson, Gail Johnson, all of Flint and Karen Johnson of Duluth, MN; 2 step-children, Stephanie Payton and Brenda Green, both of Flint; grandchildren, Patria Rhea of Johnson City, TN, Lorenzo Johnson, Byron Johnson, Alisha Johnson, Lavinia Johnson, Vance Johnson, Dana Johnson, Tracy Johnson, Torrey (Tiffany) Johnson, Marvin Johnson Jr., Nikiya (Cortez) Baily, Bridgtt Fuqua, Carl (June) Fuqua, Carl “Pee-Wee” Fuqua, Felecia Waters, Dale Johnson, Cypress Collins, Emanual Phifer, all of Flint, Kiya Johnson of Huntsville, AL, Candra Johnson, Corie (Justin) Aubin, all of Johnson City, TN and Keomie Williams of Flint; 49 great-grandkids; 17 great-great-grandkids; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Gloria and Philip Morgan, Olinder Jones, Emanual and Wayne Brown, Diane and Earl Decosta, the Morgan family, Gloria Collins, Robert James, the Straham, Buckley, Roberts, Williams, Woodyard, Smith, Hopson, Yates and Mooney families, and Carolyn Brock. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Emma Mooney; husband, Willie Lee Clifford Johnson; sons, Rondle (Moon) Johnson, Bryant (Chuck) Johnson, and Thomas Johnson; granddaughters, Sharonel Williams, Jaquita Johnson, and Nariayah Younger; grandson, Terrance Fuqua; son-in-law, Carl Fuqua; daughter-in-law, Cindy Johnson.
