Mr. Raymond Lee Boone

BOONE, Mr. Raymond Lee - Age 71, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, April 6, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Bishop Rory C. Cavette, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Monday. Mr. Boone will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Sunday. Mr. Raymond Lee Boone was born July 7, 1948 in Baldwin, Michigan, the son of Thomas L. and Bertha Mae (McVay) Boone Sr. Raymond was the 2nd of 10 children. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, where he played in the Marching Band. Raymond loved his family, fishing, motorcycle riding and boxing. He was a adamant fan of the Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lion’s. Raymond was employed at Buick City, a division of General Motors Corporation, for many years and was a member of UAW Local #599. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received several medals including, the National Defense Medal. Mr. Raymond Lee Boone leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Mrs. Candace (Willis) Boone; daughters, Lashaunte Jené Boone, Sharonda Michelle (Adam) Martinez and Diondra Denise Boone; special daughter, Destiny; 4 sisters, Barbara (Willie) Coney, Sandra Boone, Terry Boone-Love, all of Flint and Tanisha Boone of Swartz Creek, MI; special aunt and special uncles, Mr. James H. (Theola) Richardson and Samuel Rawls; 6 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Reginald “Reggie” Peat. Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Mae (McVay) Boone; father, Mr. Thomas L. Boone Sr.; sisters, Deborah Boone-Bankston, Linda Boone-Boutte and Brenda Joyce Boone; brothers, Thomas L. Boone Jr., Billy Ray Boone and Clifford Lavond Boone; great-nephew, Ramon Merriweather Jr.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Ida Mae (Willis) Bartley; father-in-law, Mr. Homer B. Willis Sr; 4 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; and special nephew, Latreill Ratliff. The family would like to give special thanks to the Martinez family, Dr. Peter Thoms and Dr. Shafi Ahmed. ********At Lawrence E.
