SEALES, Mr. Ray C. - Age 60, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 3020 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Kevin Thompson officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Tuesday. Mr. Seales will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Ray Charles Seales entered into this world on September 12, 1958 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the last born son of Rayford and Queen (Kirkland) Seales. The family decided to move to Flint, Michigan in 1962. Ray graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1976.” he was a stellar employee of over thirty years for General Motors Corporation and later retired in 2008. Mr. Seales was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. He had many hobbies but his favorite was watching all sports. Ray loved spending time with all family, playing on his iPad and traveling. One thing we all know is that he always had a nickname for everyone. He always found it important to bestow his knowledge and important life lessons to all the young men that he came in contact with. Mr. Ray Charles Seales leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife of 24 years, Yvonne Thompson-Seales; daughter, Shavonté (Anthony) Gray; 3 sons, Lavell (Sharon) Hamlin, Alvin Hamlin and Malik Seales; 9 grandchildren, Keshawn, Treveon, Tyson, Kemiyah, Alvin Jr., Anthony, Conner, Leah and Mekhi; special brothers, Samuel Roberts, Ronnie Kirkland and Walter Whidbee Jr.; 4 special sisters, Linda Young, Alfreda Whidbee-Carroll, Karen Whidbee-Tippit and Dean Lawson; 2 sisters-in-law, Rosetta Thompson and Lacindra Thompson; 3 brothers-in-law, Michael Thompson, Fred Thompson and James (Iris) Towers; 8 nieces, Shalena, Shirley, Laqwanda, Tarreka, Ashanti, Osha, Jamie and Jenelle; 3 great-nieces, Deja, Jahana and Samiyah; 12 nephews, Latrell, Jahan, Donald, Ricardo, Phillip, Javen, Dominique, Christopher, Curtis, Dontrell, Evan and James Jr.; 6 great-nephews, Willie, JaQuane, Spencer, Ricardo, Quantrell and Donavon; 3 great-great-nephews, Kam, Montaveon and Curtis Jr.; 5 aunts, Annette (Samuel) Roberts, Pauline (Mackie) Clemons, Viola Whidbee, Gloria Dean Kirkland, Barbara Kirkland and Ida Newkirk; 4 uncles, Raymond Kirkland, Jerome (Raydean) Kirkland, Joe (Ora) Kirkland and Stephen (Danielle) Towers; a host of cousins, Kirkland, Smith, Moore, Wilson, Grady, Seales, Whidbee and Lyons families; special cousins, Anthony Kirkland, Phillip Lyons and Billy Moore; special friend, Clifton Blanding; god-mother, Viola Whidbee; god-sons, Willie White and Dominique Moore; a host of other relatives. Mr. Seales was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Queen (Kirkland) Seales; grandparents, Henry and Lottie (Smith) Kirkland, Will and Lizzie Seales; sister, Shirley Buckley; brother, Rickey Seales; nephew, Rickey Seales Jr.; mother-in-law, Altha Thompson; father-in-law, James Towers Sr.; and god-father, Walter Whidbee. The family would like to express special thanks to each an everyone, family and friends. Without each of you this process would have been more difficult. This is one of the most difficult times for our family. We thank you for your visits, calls, the food, being there for us, your presence today, and the abundance of prayer which has sustained and ministered to us. May God bless you.
