GRAY, Mr. Ray Anthony - Age 53, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale, GA. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4415 Flushing Rd. Friends and Pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mr. Gray will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon, Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00PM-8:00 PM on Monday. Mr. Ray Anthony Gray was born May 31, 1963 in Killeen, Texas, the son of Rayebery and Loretta J. Gray. He was a big family man who loved hanging with everyone from young to old. Ray always made time for those that were in need. He took great care of many people in the family. Ray decided to make a life for himself and moved with James and Marlene in Jonesboro, GA, a longtime family friend and, uncle and aunt. He loved his new life and also lived closer to his baby sister, Rhonda Allmon in Montgomery, AL and niece Monique Ragland in Tallahassee, FL. He was proud of making his own money and was looking forward to the future. Ray’s second love was being a Disc Jockey (DJ). His DJ name was “Ray Stone”. He loved his music and knew he was going to do all the family parties. It just wasn’t a party without him doing what he did. Also, in his younger years he loved bowling. Ray didn’t have a church home, but he loved the Lord and knew the Lord. Mr. Ray Gray leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Loretta Gray; step-mother, Carolyn Gray; father figure to son Devonta Heart of Flint, MI; foster daughter, Ny’Erah Colen; foster son, Ondrey Colen; 2 sisters, Connie (Eugene) Ragland of Flint, MI; Rhonda Allmon of Montgomery, AL; brothers, Arick (Andrea) Gray and Andre Snell of Suitland, MD; 2 nieces, Schenice (Quinn) Mays of Houston, TX, Monique Ragland in college at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL; 2 nephews, Eugene (KeiArah) Ragland III; Joe Gray; 4 great nephews, Quinndrell Mays, Quaevion Mays Da’Quindre Mays all of Houston, TX, Eugene Ragland IV of Flint, MI; 3 aunts, Gwen Washington, Carolyn Fay Washington, Carolyn Jean Washington and a host of cousins , other relatives and dear caring friends survive him. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his father, Rayebery Gray; grandmothers, Clara O. Washington and Esteena Butler; grandfather, Wardell Butler; and 2 uncles, Joe Washington and Westley Washington.
