Mr. Ramsey Ratliff Jr.

RATLIFF JR., Mr. Ramsey "Uncle Jr." - Age 57, transitioned from this life of fifty-seven years to his new and eternal life on the evening of Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Eld. LeQuin R. Williams, Sr., officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Ratliff will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Ramsey Ratliff, Jr. also known as “Rambo” and “Uncle Jr.” was born February 26, 1956 in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Florence and Ramsey Ratliff. Ramsey was a Veteran of the United States Marines, where he was Honorably Discharged. He was employed by General Motors and was a member of UAW Local 536 and Local 599. Ramsey enjoyed bowling, fishing, traveling and spending time with family. He was a loving, caring, humorous and thoughtful individual, a symbol of selfless humanity, a man devoted to family and friends. Ramsey fought his fight, he finished his course and God called him home. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Ayana L. Gaines; beloved sister, Maude L. Bell of Flint; 3 nieces, Florenda (Demetrious) Coleman of Nashville, TN, Kendra M. Bell and Chloe P. Bell, both of Flint; great nieces, A’metria A. Coleman, D’Metria A. Coleman, K’Metria L. Coleman, Cerenitee R. Bell, Honestee N. Bell and Dionna L. Solomon; 2 nephews, Flarzell R. (Shawrica) Bell of Flint and Obajimor Rammell “Roe” Bell of Pemberton, NJ; great nephews, Demetrious A. Coleman and Obajimor T. Bell; 3 aunts, Neva Magee of Flint, Celestine Ratliff of Jackson, MS, Maude Mangaum of Bogalusa, LA; 3 uncles, Arthur “Bill” Hewitt, James and Joe Dillion, all of Tylertown, MS; cousins, Billy Ray Magee, Georgia L. Freeman, Mae H. Wickware, Janice Case Patricia Magee, Willard Magee, Ernest Lewis and Allen Magee; a host of other relatives and friends including best friends, Kevin Greene, Dewayne James, Clark Felton, Frank Robertson, Mary James and family. Mr. Ratliff was preceded in death by his parents, Ramsey and Florence Ratliff; and grandparents, Cleveland and Bertha Ratliff and Lucious and Louvina Wilson, all of Tylertown, MS. The family would like to express special thanks to Ernest Lewis, Kevin Greene, Michael Sykes, Dewayne James and Frank Robertson.
