WALKER, Mrs. Rachelle - Age 55, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Goodrich Care Center. Family hour 10AM Monday, April 23, 2007 at Bountiful Love Ministries C.O.G.I.C., G-3432 W. Pasadena Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Timothy R. Stokes officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Monday. Mrs. Walker will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Sunday. Mrs. Rachelle Adelle Walker was born April 1, 1952, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Adelle Watkins. She was currently a resident of Flushing, MI, though she was born and raised in Flint. Rachelle attended Flint Central High School graduating in 1970. She retired from Beecher Community School District after 20 years of service as a secretary. Rachelle accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was currently a member of Family Worship Center, under the leadership of Rev. Timothy R. Stokes, pastor. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. Rachelle was loved by all who knew her and any new soul she met. She will be dearly missed and always remembered for her wonderful words of wisdom, giving and compassionate ways and most of all for her ability to touch anyone whom she encountered and make them feel as if they were a child or relative of her own. Mrs. Rachelle Walker leaves to cherish her memory and pass own her legacy: daughter, Katrina E. Watkins of Flushing, MI; 5 goddaughters, Anitriss (Antoine) Smith, Tonya (Kevin) Dixon all of Flint; Marcie (Michael) Edwards of Ohio, Naomi Mumpfield of Detroit and Tujana (Everett) Little of Georgia; brother, Algie (Lorraine) Watkins of Lansing; sister-in-law, Anne Hester of Flint; special sister and best friend, Katherine Woodley of Kent, WA; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Rev. Jeffrey (Diane) Hawkins, Sr., Lillian Fair, Sue Love, Rev. Alfonso Rubin and Ms. Shawlene Martin. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Adelle Watkins and 1 brother. The family would like to express special thanks to the Family Worship Center Church Family, 9 Tower staff at Hurley Medical Center, Dr. Rizwan Danish and staff, Dr. Graham, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church family, Genesys Hospice, First Trinity Baptist Church family.
