Mrs. Quintina Anita (Stewart) Bond

BOND(STEWART), Mrs. Quintina Anita - Age 39, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 in Rochester, NY. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at North Central Church of Christ, 2001 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Bond will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Quintina Anita Stewart Bond (Tina), age 39, was born on December 28, 1978 in Flint, MI to Glenn and Aretta Stewart. Tina departed this life unexpectedly on August 3rd , 2018. Tina attended Dukette Catholic and Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Southwestern Academy in 1997. Tina continued to pursue her education at General Motors Institute “GMI” (now known as Kettering University) and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002. While attending GMI, Tina pursued a co-op opportunity at General Motors “Buick City” (also known as Flint North). Tina hired into General Motors Powertrain Flint North as a maintenance supervisor and held various positions including electrical engineering. Tina continued her professional engineering career highlighted by the opportunity to launch a new engine facility in Qingdao, Shandong China in 2008. Tina was the lead electrical engineering support team member at SGMW engine facility and spent 6 months in China. Upon her return to the United States, Tina held electrical engineering positions at General Motors Flint Engine South, General Motors Powertrain Headquarters in Pontiac, MI and General Motors Components in Rochester, NY. In 1999, a young man introduced himself to Tina in the hallway of the dormitory at GMI. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Since he was slightly younger than her, she said hello and walked away. One year later, he began a summer internship at GM. The two became great friends throughout their co-op/internships sessions and he became a full time employee at GM. Tina and the young man grew closer in 2007 and in 2008, they were both chosen for the international assignment in Qingdao, China. Upon their return the young man (Justen Bond) proposed to Tina in May 2010 and they were married on November 27, 2010. From this union, two beautiful young ladies were born Alissa Bond and Aiya Bond. Tina loved the Lord and loved people. Tina loved her husband and absolutely loved and adored her two children. Tina’s faith remained strong through all challenges that she faced, including breast cancer. Tina enjoyed playing sports which included basketball and rollerblading. Tina was a great actor. She starred in local plays including “Nosey Neighbors” in Flint Michigan and “Faith of a Mustard Seed” in Rochester NY. Tina proclaimed God’s word boldly not only in the words she said, but the way that she lived her life. She instilled the word of God in her children, friends and even strangers she encountered. Tina attended various churches throughout her life and currently was a member of the North Greece Road Church of Christ in Rochester, NY since relocating to Rochester in 2016. Tina’s words of encouragement, beauty and gorgeous smile could change the mood in any situation, whether near or far. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Justen Bond; two children, Alissa Danielle Bond and Aiya Nicole Bond, all of Rochester, NY; parents, Glenn and Aretta Stewart, Roscoe and Lavern Bond; brother, Kelvin Stewart, all of Flint MI; sister, Koronika (Kevin) Flournoy; sister-in-law, Elena (Alric) Hawkins, all of Houston, TX; nieces, Kamryn Flournoy, Kristen Flournoy, all of Houston TX, Nora Dudley and Amiya Dudley, both of Flint MI; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends which include, Melanie Jones, Aaron Hickmon, Shanika Word, Yolanda Hill, Tavia Jones, Candace Gray, Leola Burell, Kelli Jackson, Cecily Ganheart. The family would like to express special thanks to the North Greece Road Church of Christ, General Motors Rochester Components for their support during this difficult time including Angela Starks, Alisha Starks, Aleah Starks, Cynthia Robinson, Jackie Washington, and Brenda Jones. Tina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin and Morine Stewart, Harry and Ruth Williams; and aunt, Betty Brown.
