Mr. Ples Wyatt Sr.

WYATT, Mr. Ples Sr. - Age 93, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Saints of God Church, 2200 Forest Hill Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Wyatt will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday. On December 3, 2017 Ples Wyatt Sr. accepted Heaven’s invitation and transitioned home to rest with his Heavenly Father. Ples was born June 12, 1924 in Cairo, Mississippi, the son of Miriam (T.N.) Nelson. He decided to embark on a journey to a better life. In 1950, his travels led to Michigan where he landed substantial employment with General Motors Corporation as a Fork Lift Driver. In 1953, Ples realized his prayers had been answered when God led him to the love of his life, Ludora, who had also migrated to Flint, Michigan after she left college in Memphis, TN. They were united in Holy Matrimony on November 16, 1955 and from this union they bore four loving children, daughter, Doris J. Wyatt; son, Ples I. (LaDonna) Wyatt, son, Gary (Lisa) Wyatt of Oberlin, OH and daughter, Myrna E. (Wyatt) Wright of Scottsdale, AZ. In 1971, being the provider that his entire family would forever cherish, Ples took on a second position as a Maintenance Engineer for Kmart Corp. He retired from General Motors in 1981 and Kmart in 1982. Ples loved his family, fishing, vacationing with his family, high fashion, listening to music and singing with his Friendship Quartet. Mr. Ples Wyatt Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Ludora Wyatt; 2, daughters, Doris J. Wyatt and Myrna E. (Wyatt) Wright of Scottsdale, AZ; 4 sons, Ples I. (LaDonna) Wyatt Jr. and Gary (Lisa) Wyatt of Oberlin, OH, Jimmie and Lee Wyatt; grandchildren, Tremaine E. Wyatt, Marlon E. Wyatt, Sharena M. (Christopher) Wilson, Garrison D.T. Wyatt, Jerrison J.P. (Carissa) Wyatt, Ples I. Wyatt III, Rodney D. Jones II, Dymond N. Jones, Lauren Wyatt, Jimmie L. Wyatt II, Jason Wyatt Terry, Sylvia, Heather, Michelle, Curtis, Sonny, Earl and Prather Newell; ahost of great-grandchildren he loved dearly; 4 nieces including, Mary and Florence Harris; 9 nephews including, Howard Taylor Jr., Roy Taylor, Raymond Taylor and Johnny Taylor; mother and father-in-law, Benny and Beatrice (Hutchinson) Harris; 4 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Harris, Rosie Lee Taylor, Annie Mae Harris and Queen Ester (Harris) Clear; 2 brothers-in-law, Leander Harris and Thomas Harris; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Lee Booker. Mr. Wyatt was preceded in death by his daughter, Mabel D. Newell; grandson, Dana Rod Wyatt; mother, Mariam (T.N.) Nelson; step-father, Rainey Nelson; sister, Azalee (Rigsby) Malone; brother, Larry Rigsby; niece, Flossy Neeley; and nephews, Andrew and Edward Taylor.
