WRIGHT, Ms. Phyllis - Age 55, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Bernadel Jefferson officiating. Family and friends will assemble in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 10:30 a.m. Friday. Ms. Wright will lie in state in the Chapel, and may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ms. Phyllis Wright was born May 22, 1960 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Harold Wilson and Ophelia Wright. She attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School, “Class of ‘78”. Phyllis was always full of life. She loved to go skating and play spades in her free time. Phyllis was gifted a beautician and home maker. She enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Phyllis Wright leaves to cherish precious memories her son, Clarence (Tiffany) Wilson; 2 grandchildren, Ta’Shari Wilson of Flint and Jayden Wilson of Atlanta, GA; mother, Ophelia Boatwright; sister, Delois (Roy Sr.) Jackson; brother, Delano Boatwright; aunts, Geraldine (Willie) Wilkerson of California, Mary Franklin, Martha (Robert) White, Marie Rawlings all of Pine Bluff, AR; uncles, Merritt Wilson of Kansas City, MO; Paul (Darlene) Wilson, Will (Shirley) Wright all of Pine Bluff, AR, Samuel (Hazel) of Hot Springs, AR, John (Francis) Wright of Arlington, TX; special niece, LaKrisha Jackson; nephews, Curtis Wright and Roy Jackson, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends including grade school friends, Polly Lenear and Reva Ford. Ms. Wright was preceded in death by father, Harold Wilson; step-father, Charles Boatwright; sister, Gail Wright; and grandparents. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren – Flint 6th floor Doctors and Staff and to Bishop Bernadale L. Jefferson. “Sweet Mother of Mine” Sweet mother of mine you’re gone on your way. To a place where there’s joy all night and all day. Where there is no sorrow, no heartache, nor pain God sent for his child to come out of the rain. At first I asked why, and this I confess But Then I remembered, God always knows best. She will no longer struggle to get through her days So let us mourn, but rejoice and sing praise. So lift up your heads and dry your teary eyes And say “see you soon” for this is not goodbye.
