Pervell Manney

MANNEY, Mr. Pervell - Age 49, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2115 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Michael Pettigrew, officiating Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Manney will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8p.m. Friday. Mr. Pervell O. Manney was born September 12, 1961 in Helena, Arkansas, the son of Frank, Sr. and Bobbye Manney. Pervell accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Harlem High School. Pervell served in the United States Army for 4 years with an Honorable Discharge. He was formerly employed at Midwest Zinc and a volunteer at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Pervell enjoyed listening to gospel music, bowling, playing dominoes and pool. He also loved to cook inside and outdoors. Mr. Pervell Manney leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Nancy Manney; daughter, Chanel Manney; son, Pervell Manney, Jr.; 4 step-children, Mario and Shoy Singleton, Adrian and Adria Williams; grandchildren, Tyris and Ty’Quan Manney of Chicago, IL and Taija Weakley; step-grandchildren, Tra’preece Singleton, Anaudia Williams, Zaria Davis, Mario Singleton, Adrian Williams, Jr. of Flint, Niya McCree, Maceio Singleton, Armani Wilder, Vishaya Singleton and Tre’Ana McCree; great-grandchild, Jacion Cain; mother, Bobbye Manney; godmother, Mattie Williams of Flint; 2 sisters, Nina Vance of Indianapolis, IN and Tassanee Harris of Chicago, IL; brother, Frank Manney, Jr. of Chicago, IL; 2 nieces, Nina Manney and Arina Harris of Chicago, IL; nephew, Brian Vance of Indianapolis, IN; great-nephews, Rogel Jr. and Jiale Stevenson both of Chicago, IL and Kyron Simmons of Indianapolis, IN; 10 aunts, Mattie Williams, Mary Alice Chaney, Edna Chaney, Rosemary Chaney, all of Flint, Thelma King, Mary Ann Hicks, Jeanette Montgomery, Della Griffin of Helena, AR, Marie Thompson of Atlanta, GA and Roberta Chaney of Dallas, TX; uncle, Joe Hicks of Helena, AR; father-in-law, Jimmy Williams of Flint; 2 brothers-in-law; a host of cousins other relatives and friends. Mr. Manney was preceded in death by his father, Frank Manney, Sr.; 2 grandmothers, Pinnie Chaney and Nancy Manney; 2 grandfathers, Milton Chaney and Frank Manney; 16 uncles; 9 aunts; and godfather, Pervell White.
